ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP
AIM: To make them comfortable with English class.
PROCEDURE:
 The teacher greets the student and asks them how they are
today.
 The teacher presents herself and will also talk about what they
will do today.
 The teacher asks the students what date is today and if they
know what we celebrate in 8th March (Mother’s day).

TIMING: 2 minutes.

ACTIVITY 2: REVISION THE PAST SIMPLE OF THE


AFFIRMATIVE FORM OF THE VERB TO BE
AIM: To see if they remember what they talked about last week.
PROCEDURE:
 The teacher asks the student about the lesson they did last week.
 „When do we use was/were?”
 Working in teams, they are going to play a game on

ACTIVITY 3: ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE LESSON


AIM: To introduce a part of the new topic.
PROCEDURE:
 The teacher tells the students to open the books on page 70 and
their notebooks and to write down the title „Who was it?”
 The teacher shows the students some pictures with some
building: station, hospital, museum, café, theatre, library.
 The teacher helps the students recognize the buildings.
 The teacher writes the words and the sentences on the
blackboard.
 The teacher tells the students that they are going to talk about
the interrogative and negative forms of the past simple of the
verb „to be”

ACTIVITY 4: WHO WAS IT?
AIM: To introduce the new topic.
PROCEDURE:
 The teacher explains to the students when to use the
interrogative form of the verb „to be” at Past Simple (In order to
ask a question, „was/were” need to be at the begginning of the
sentence.) and when to use the negative form (You can use was
not/ were not, or the short form „wasn’t/weren’t”)
 The teacher plays the listening for the students.
 The teacher asks the students to read the text from the book.
 The teacher asks the students to underline the unknown words
and write them in their notebooks, if they exist.
 The teacher starts to do exercise 2 from the page 70.

AIM: To see what they understood from today.
