DAY _2_

Topic: Insulators, Conductors, and Semi-Conductors

Sub-topics: Differences between Insulators, Conductors, and Semi-Conductors
Date: March 10, 2022
Time 9:00 am – 10:00 am

OBJECTIVES
The student is expected to:
 Identify the differences between insulators, conductors, and semi-conductors.
 Compare insulators, conductors and semiconductors in terms of properties and uses.
 Recognize common electrical Insulators, conductors and semiconductors .

STRATEGIES
 Explain the common electronic components and symbols in clear and understandable manner.
 Inquiry based learning
 Pause procedure: Taking a break every 5 minutes so that student have time to discuss and ask
questions.
 Muddiest point: Asking the student to write down which point in the lesson is the least clear to
him.

SUMMARY REPORT
On the second day of our tutorial, I began examining my student's prior knowledge of the
material by administering a pre-test in his module. I explained the targeted learning outcomes that
we needed to meet after the one-hour lesson after reviewing what he already knew about the topic
in his module. Following that, I began the discussion with the most fundamental, outlining the
definition and significance of insulators, conductors, and semi-conductors. After that, we discussed
the differences between insulators, conductors, and semi-conductors, as well as some materials are
cited for examples in each category. I employed the same method I used on the first day of class,
which is inquiry-based learning, in the middle of the session. I also utilized the pause procedure and
muddiest point techniques once again. Using the muddiest point approach, I was able to determine
that he was having difficulty distinguishing between conductors and semi-conductors. As a result, I
created a comparison chart for him to fully understand. In addition, I listed a few items or materials
and asked him to determine if they were an insulator, conductor, or semi-conductor. Finally, I
allowed him ample time to complete his exercises and take the post-test in his module on his own to
evaluate his progress. I verified his answers on his module the next day, and  most of them were
right. As a result, I came to the conclusion that the stated learning outcomes were again met, and
the strategies employed were effective.
