27 National Correctional Consciousness Week

Tandag City Parole and Probation Office

Man has placed a high value on commemorating important occasions from the birth
of civilization. Every society, nation, and tradition has its own manner of commemorating
major occasions. Their customs and traditions are shaped by their cultural heritage, history,
religious beliefs, and even the geography of the location in which they reside. Similarly,
we all grieve the same losses, such as the death of a loved one or the occurrence of a severe
setback or tragedy.

In this regard, the Parole and Probation Administration participated in the 27th
National Correctional Consciousness Week celebration with the theme “In Jail/Prison
Chaplains and Volunteers: Gifted to Give Love that Restores Life and Healing to the
Prison Community”.

The Tandag City Parole and Probation Office significantly participated in the said
celebration thru various activities not just to benefit the clients but the environment as well.

Skills training on Organic Concoctions/Extracts was held on October 21, 2021,

spearheaded by TESDA of Surigao del Sur. The active farmers were comprised primarily
of 24 probationers and parolees.

On October 26, 2021, 150 Lauan seedlings were planted at Tandag City Watershed
by 60 participants under the active supervision of City Environment and Natural Resources
Office.

On October 27, 2021, Tandag City Parole and Probation Office hosted a Virtual
Information Drive on the probation law, who is/are eligible for parole, and other topics,
which was led by Tandag City Parole and Probation Office and attended by Tandag City
Jail PDLs.

On October 28, 2021, 77 clients actively participated in a clean-up drive at the old
DPWH building, Capitol Road, Barangay Telaje, Tandag City.

On October 29, 2021, 30 clients qualified to donate blood in the Provincial Health
Office-led bloodletting activity held at Covered Court, Barangay Unidad, Cagwait, Surigao
del Sur.
