Figures in the plane

Triangle

Median
The line segment form a vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side.
The ponit where the three medians of the triangle intersect is called Barycentre.

Bisector
A line that cuts an angle into two equalse parts.
The three angle bisectors of a triangle meet in one point called the incentre.

Altitude
The perpendicular distance from one side to the farthest point.
The point where the three altitudes of a triangle intersect is calles Orthocentre.
Hexagon
Apothem
The line segment from a center of the polygon to the midpoint of a side.

Circle
Sagitta
The line segment from the midoint of the chord to the circumference, perpendicularly.
Figures in the space

Cube
Diagonal
The line segment from one vertex to the toher vertex opposite the the first.

Oblique cylinder
Generatrix
The line segment from to the above circumference to the bellow circumference, with equal
inclination of it.
Pyramid

Height
The perpendicular distance from the vertex to the base

Apothem
The perpendicular distance from the vertex to the edge

Cone
Slant height
The diagonal distance from the vertex of the cone to the circumference.

Truncated cone
Generatrix
The line segment from the small radius to the large radius of the truncated cone, with equal
ionclination of it.
