DEBATE TO PERSUADE

The 2nd edition of Youth for diplomacy summit was organized at Dyal
Singh (E) College on 12-13 March. The event aimed at giving the best
debating and learning experience to the delegates across the country
with support and guidance of Shri Suresh Jain ji (National Organizing
Secretary, Bharat Vikas Parishad) and Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma ji
(Principal, Dyal Singh(E) College).

On the 12th March, the event started with lightening of the lamps by our
esteemed dignitaries present in the opening ceremony. The Guest of

DEBATE TO PERSUADE

The event comprised a total of 4 committees – 2 UN and 2 Indian. The


agendas for all the 4 committees were different that were chaired by some
renowned executive board members of the MUN circuit. There were around
350+ members who witnessed the event. The delegates gave an exemplary
performance in the summit. The extraordinary performances were awarded
cash prizes up to INR 50,000/- and the executive board members were
felicitated.

The event was concluded with a closing ceremony with guest of honor Shri
Mukesh Bhardwaj and Mrs. Charu Pragya. Shri Mukesh Bhardwaj is a Lawyer
by profession and very active socially. Mrs. Charu Pragya is a lawyer-
politician heading the National Legal Cell of the BJP’s Youth Wing.

UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The committee went through a deep


discussion on the present Israel -
Palestine situation specially
emphasizing on the situation in Gaza
region, the committee came to a
common consensus that-
1. In this situation a two-state
policy can only help in recovering the
situation.
2. Peace summits on international
level must be held to emphasize peace
restoration.
3. Jerusalem being the epicenter of
3 religions and being epitome of all 3
needs to go under the rule of the UN.
4. A bilateral treaty must be signed
to restrict any use of arms or
ammunitions on both the sides.
5. The present border must be
considered as the international
border and shall be restricted by both
the sides.

UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL

The committee discussed the present


political condition in Afghanistan
and came to the following
conclusions to rebuild the country’s
economy-
1. Suggests Afghanistan to ensure
education and employment for
women;
2. Expresses its hope for elections to
be considered and potentially held in
a free and fair manner;
3. Encourages nations to develop
trade and business channels with
Afghanistan for economic
development;
4. Recommends ILO and HRW
advisors to work with the Taliban
regime closely;
5. Reaffirming that the humanitarian
aid reaches the people in need
through the proper;

UNITED NATIONS COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN

The Delegates recommends nations to


encourage intersectional representation
through assistance from UN Women
regional and country offices and
complying to the “Singular Dialogue
Initiative” which proposes – I) Training
programs for volunteers from
underdeveloped and developing nations
to add value to their community
outreach and awareness programs and
Conducting PDR for nations to provide
detailed analysis of intersectional
feminist approach to specific
demographics.
The committee is concluded by
acknowledging, Administrations having
the legislative power to remedy gender
discrimination by utilizing their
authorities. By running programs,
policies, activities, training, especially
on media and other mediums to
encourage and spread the message of
women's participation. And bringing
certain actions to achieve positive
results and do adequate assessment of
the progress.

DEBATE TO PERSUADE

LOK SABHA

Some important points of discussion in the


committee were-
(1) Every farmer, including all categories as
defined under Section 2, shall be entitled to
immediate unconditional waiver of the entire
amount of outstanding institutional loans as of
21st March 2021
(2) Farmers who have repaid the bank loans
from the previous financial year to the cut-off
period of sub-section (1) above shall have their
accounts credited with the amount of scale of
finance for the crop grown.
(3) The waiver of loans shall be implemented in
a single instalment and the Government shall
take all measures to ensure the issuance of
fresh loans to all eligible farmers in the
ensuing season without any impact due to the
implementation of loan waiver.
(4) The Government shall provide sufficient
funds to the State governments to implement
waiver of loans from cooperative banks.
(5) All farmer loans from non-institutional
sources shall be converted through debt-
swapping into institutional loans. The
government shall specify a process for the
same.
(6) The Government shall implement a waiver
of such bank loans arising out of debtswapping.

ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTIES MEET

The committee discussed the electoral


reforms with special emphasis on state
and general elections. The committee
came to common consensus of
implementing-
1. A national electoral fund which

preference to a single political party.
2. The EC shall emphasize on
reducing polling phases, especially in
big states.
3. 33% reservation for women
representation in Lok Sabha elections.
4. The print media to be included in
section 126 of RPS ,1951.
5. A single unified voters list for
elections from municipal corporation to
Lok Sabha .
6. Voter awareness campaign shall
be held occasionally to celebrate the
worlds largest democracy and voting
population.
