Activity 4.1
After you have gathered all the necessary data, write the learner’s
development profile using the outline below.
Social Development
The learner is very friendly and sociable. He knows how to interact
well with his teacher, friends, and classmates. He communicates
well, concerning his own welfare and those who surround him.
Emotional-Moral Development
The learner grows with self confidents and with assurance that his
parents are always there for him at all times. From his parents and
siblings he receive, love, warmth, and respect.
Cognitive Development
His cognitive aspect continuously improves as he goes to school
and study. He is a fast learner and active in class unlike other
learners.
Findings
The learner is cheerful, very active in class, has a good
performance in academic, and e socializes to his peers, teachers,
friends, and classmates. He likes to play basketball that is where
most of his friends are at. He is also active in school by joining the
school’s activities, contests and programs. The environment of the
school helps the learner to willingly learn and be part of a group or
community that is present.
Conclusions
I concluded that the home and the school contributes a great
impact in developing the physical, social emotional-moral, and
cognitive aspects of the learner as the total of his personality.
School plays a vital role in molding the learner’s development as
well as the teacher which is the very important person in school like
the parents in the house who bears knowledge and values to share
with their learner/child.
Recommendations
For the parents, they are responsible in disciplining and guiding
their child. They should always monitor their child’s performance in
school. Always be open to their child and give their full support and
encourage and motivate them to focus and study hard to become
successful in the near future.
For the teachers, they can use technology to enhance their
teachings which they impart to the students to have a good quality
of teaching.
ANALYZE
Your findings and recommendations in the Learner Development Profile will help
you answer the questions here.
1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of
parenting experienced by the learner? Explain your answer.
Authoritative parenting is present. The parents are strict yet loving.
They have clear and reasonable limits for their children.
2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development, what
family factors do you think contribute to the development and over-all
adjustment of the learner in school?
The way the parents discipline their children and the actions such
as rewards and talking to them greatly influence the child
development.
3. Does the communication between the home-school have an effect on the
learner? If yes, what are these effects?
Communication between homes to school has an effect to the
learner where the parents can easily communicate with the school
asking for their concerns about the learner’s performance. In that
way the parents can be able to guide their child if there’s needs an
improvement.
4. How can the teacher partner with the community to contribute to the
development and learning of the students? Who are the people or which
institutions can the teacher tap to seek advice regarding the development
and learning of the students?
When schools and community organizations work together to
support learning for everyone’s benefits. Partnerships can serve to
strengthen, support, and even transform individual partners,
resulting in improved program quality, more efficient use of
resources, and better alignment of goals and curricula. The people
or which institutions that the teacher can tap to seek advice
regarding the development and learning of the students are the
parents of the students, the principal or even his/her co-teachers.
