attractions, others). Identify each one. The first one serves as an example.

Module 3 | Activity 2: Video Analysis


Choose a short amateur video on YouTube or on any platform which caught your attention. It
could be a short random clip, a music video, or an advertisement. Ask yourself some of these
questions:

1. How was the video created?
- The video was created from the book of J. K. Rowling book and also by  pre-production,
which is the planning stage for mapping out your strategy and script for the video, production
is the phase in which the video is shot, and finally post-production, which involves editing the
video, adding music and other effects.
2. What materials were used in producing the video?
- Tripod. A necessary piece of equipment to keep your footage looking steady and
professional. Also Camera Light, Three-Point Lighting Kit, Portable Digital Audio Recorder,
Headphones, Light Reflector, Lenses: Wide Angle, Clear "Protective" Lens, Polarizer, Zoom
Lens, Macros, etc.
3. What steps were made to make it more entertaining?
- By using the curiosity of people, hooking the audience, making interesting visual, using the
book of J.K Rowling, inspiring the audience, making it credible.
4. What was included and what was excluded?
- Excluded: Profanity in the title or thumbnail image, or profanity used repeatedly or
throughout.
- Included: Organizing the trailer using three-act structure, Showing the most unforgettable
scenes, using voice-over or text to help tell the story, Choosing music that sets, Using editing
techniques to control the pace, Highlighting the film's talent.

Questions:
1. What are the main colors used? What do they mean?
- The main color used is black and white. Black -  the color used to convey certainty and authority, and
when used in opposition with white, it's a symbol of the eternal struggle between day and night, good
and evil, and right and wrong. White - represents purity or innocence.
2. How are the text presented? How does it help complete the meaning of the poster?
- The text presented showing the struggle of poor waiting to others giving food. It helps to complete the
meaning of the picture by showing us the life and struggle of the poor.
3. Is the message in the visual mostly found in words, pictures/symbols, or both? Why?
- Both because without word and picture/symbol we will not understand the message of the visual.
4. Give one (1) symbol from the image and its implication to the mood of the poster.
- The symbol that I see is the hand holding the fish and the opening of the mouth of the poor. It show
implication of power is in those rich and the poor will always looking up and begging.
