Problem statement for proposed Skyhive Skyscraper Challenge
The given design problem has been based upon the Skyhive Skyscraper Challenge 2022, an international
Architectural Design Competition which seeks out designs for iconic high-rise structures.
However some constraints have been imposed to the original design problem to make it more articulated
and realistic in the context of Indian building by-laws and codes.
The given site is situated near the Dadar beach in Mumbai, opposite to the upcoming Ambedkar
International Memorial. The site is rectangular in shape with the longer side measuring 130M and the
shorter side 80M. The site location and orientation is shown in the reference picture below-
Permissible FAR/FSI is flexible according to according to the area requirements of the design brief,
considering additional FSI and TDR rules.
Minimum setback of 10M from the plot boundary adjacent to other plots and 8M from the plot boundary
adjacent to the main roads are to be maintained.
Spatial requirements/ building programme
Spatial requirements are open to modifications and improved development strategies, however the area
requirements specified above need to be met.
Design of the interior spaces in modules are recommended and blown up detail of a module can be
demonstrated.

Internal interim review with basic site planning, single line drawings of plan/elevation/section, block
model/view: (25 marks) 28-3-2022 and 29-3-2022
External interim review with revised site plan, plans, elevation and section in single line drawing, block
model/view, sketches of details, blown up furniture layouts: (25 marks) 5-4-2022 (tentative)
Final drawings- concept, site plan, plans elevation, sections, views, renders and details: (35 marks)
