“Fight Song” by Rachel Platten

Fight Song was written and performed by an American musician named Rachel Ashley
Platten, who was born on May 21, 1981 in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, USA. As a child, she
began practicing classical piano at the age of five and began playing guitar in high school. She
enrolled at Trinity College and joined the school's acapella ensemble, the Trinitones. After
independently releasing two albums in 2003 and 2011, she signed with Columbia Records in
2015 and released her debut single, "FightSong," about depression, which peaked at number six
on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, topped charts in the United Kingdom, and was in
the top ten on multiple charts worldwide. Platten received a Daytime Emmy Award for a live
performance of the song on Good Morning America. She felt she would have to pursue music
full-time after gaining so much experience.
Rachel's dedication to music is evident even since she's a child. Growing up with the
ambition of being a professional singer. "'Fight Song' was inspired by a lot of experiences that
were hurting me and making me feel like maybe I didn't have a chance in this industry. I wrote
it because I needed to remind myself that I believed in myself. No matter what, I am still going
to make music, even if it was on a small scale. Even if it was just for me," Rachel Platten said.
This were the reason why she made the song, — to believe in herself that she can succeed.
When this song was release in 2015 many people was inspired to live, the one going on a
chemotherapy, depressed people, etc. they were given a chance to believe that they can be
healed. To believe in what they can do. This is the power of music, to inspire a lot of people.
Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" may be one of the year's most popular inspiring anthems,
but the singer says she didn't intend for anyone else to hear it and wasn't sure if anyone ever
would. "I created the song when I was going through such a horrible period and I needed to
remember to believe in myself," Platten said in an interview. Rachel wished to be a professional
singer. When she first started chasing her goal, there were occasionally barely 20 people in the
audience. She created cds of her songs, but only a few people bought them. For almost a
decade, the industry had rejected her. Rachel concludes that she should give up since she is
bored of singing at bars from 1am to 4am. She was sick of driving her mother's ancient
automobile. What does she have? 120 songs that no one wanted to hear, but that doesn't stop
her from achieving her objective; instead, she views it as a task that must be overcome. She
stated that even if just 5 people came to hear her, she would still sing for herself. She doesn't
care if no one else believes, as she stated in the song "I've still got a lot of fight left in me." Life
throws many challenges at her, but she will always fight. That's why the song was titled "Fight
Song."
Fight Song implies not to ever give up on the problems that life brings at you and to
always do what you believe in, no matter what others think. Never give up fighting and just
listen to your heart. Despite the fact that only 20 people have listened to her songs and that
only a handful have purchased her CDs, Rachel remains confident in her ability as a professional
singer. She composed "fight song" to assist herself, but it ended up helping millions of other
people. It's no longer just Rachel's fight song; it's everyone's fight song.
