conversation with my

feel. I had a student ask
me, “Maestra, if you
are so tired how do
you always find a way
to smile and be happy
with us?” I thought
that was interesting
because to me it is my
job to make sure my
classroom is a
welcoming place for
them to be and I like
that I am doing my job.
However, it got me
thinking about the
experiences they might
be having in other
classrooms and that
made me sad. I will
always do my best to
make sure that my
lessons are engaging
and that my students
know I am there to
support them, no
matter what it is that
they are going through.
