Filipinos in vulnerable situations. In all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross
has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be
involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now
focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer
short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive

Brief Description of Solid Waste Management Plan (e.g., waste reduction, segregation, recycling)
All solid wastes generated within the premises of the Blood Bank , Offices and Hemodialysis Facility
are being collected and temporarily stored in the warehouse. An individual, is being assigned to
properly segregate and classify, valuable from residual waste: a. For Valuable Waste = collected by
accredited recycler. The company initiates an annual visit to the recycler’s facility to ensure its final
by product. b. For residual waste = All residual waste generated by the company are collected by the
local/ municipal garbage collector. Accumulated residual wastes within the week are temporarily
contained in the containment area located in a secured of the hospital premises.
