Lesson Plan Class: Teaching Music With Tech.

Topic: The Four Parts of The Orchestra

Learning Objectives

By the end of the semester, my students will be able to identify the four parts of the orchestra.

Ask the students if they are able to tell me what the four parts of the orchestra are .

Point out the differences in the multiple sections of the orchestra. Ask the students why they think those instruments sound so
different. Define the four sections of the orchestra and what the different instruments entail. Note the different physical
qualities the different sections have. *pull up a webpage of preview sounds of t he different instruments* Play some of the
sounds and ask the students what they believe the instrument is.

Rubric

Create a game where the sounds of the different instruments play over the speaker and the first team to answer wins a point.
Create a worksheet where there are pictures of the different orchestral instruments and the students need to identify which
section of the orchestra is from.
