Activity 15: Soil Pollution

Answer each question thoroughly and completely.

Think of 5 ways to prevent and control land and soil pollution.

 Proper disposal of waste; dispose drusg or other chemicals in an authorized place only
 Avoid using insecticide or pesticides; practice organic ways of farming.
 Properly recycle batteries.
 Eat sustainable food stuff; avoid food that use plastics for wrapping ang using chemicals for
processing.
 Plant trees or other plants on your backyard.

What do you believe is the most dangerous outcome if soil pollution is not prevented and controlled?
Explain.

 I think the most dangerous outcome of soil pollution is damage to our health or even death.
First reason is because of the soil pollutants that enter in our body through food chain another is
because of soil pollution plants and trees might die and climate change will occur that will cause
poor harvest and we might lose our main source of food for us to have a healthy body, to
survive and to live.

How have you contributed to land and soil pollution? Now that you are aware of its consequences, how
do you plan to stop it?

 I contribute to soil pollution by not properly disposing my waste and plastics that i use and also
by using chemicals like insecticide and mosquito repelant. Now that i am aware that those
things is harmful to our environment i will avoid or reduce buying and using things that uses
chemicals for processing and also practice the proper waste management. I will also try to plant
different kind of plants in our house using pots because the property of soil here is kind of sandy
that is not applicable on planting and we don't have vacant lot space for planting.
