1. The document summarizes Boyle's law, which states that the volume of a gas is inversely proportional to its pressure when temperature is kept constant.
2. It describes Boyle's experiment in 1661 using a J-shaped glass tube containing mercury and a trapped gas sample. He observed that as pressure increased from adding more mercury, the gas volume decreased.
3. The document includes an activity with multiple choice questions to test understanding of Boyle's law and the relationship between gas volume and pressure.

________________________________________________________________________________ Lesson: Quarter 4 Week 1 LAS 1 Activity Title: All About Boyle! Learning Target (s): Describe the relationship between volume and pressure at constant temperature of gas. Reference(s): LM Science 10, TG, MELC S10MT-IIj20, Ease Module Chemistry LAS Writer: Bryan O. Ayuban ________________________________________________________________________________ Boyle’s Law One of the first scientists to study the behavior of gases was Robert Boyle. In 1661, he made a device using a J-shaped glass tube containing mercury and a sample of trapped gas similar to the figure 1.2 below. He observed that the volume of the trapped gas decreased in proportion to the pressure exerted by the addition of more mercury. He found out that as the pressure is increased, the volume decreases. He finally concluded that the volume of a fixed amount of gas is inversely proportional to its pressure at constant temperature.
