GIẢNG WRITING : for / against

The advantages of the spread of English as a global language will
continue to outweigh its disadvantages. To what extent do you agree
or disagree?
(+) : EASY TO MASTER : WHY ?
(+) : DRIVE FROM WEATHYCOUNTRIES
(-) LOSE THE DIVERSITY OF LANGUAGES
There are social, medical and technical problems associated with the use of
mobile phones. What form do these problems take? Do problems of using
mobile phone outweigh the benefits?
Do the positive effects outweigh negative effects, when advertising gains in
popularity?
Discuss the arguments for and against raising pets.
In many countries, the proportion of older people is increasing steadily. Do
you think it is a positive or negative change to the society?

The topic of the populaty of English as a global language has aroused public
concern. Some people support the view that the advantages of English will
continue to outweigh its disadvantages whilst others claim the opposite. It is quite
natural that people from different backgrounds have their own opinions on the
issue. Therefore, both of these arguments will be analyzed before a reasoned
conclusion is reached.

From the one side, the opinion earlier may sound plausible due to the
enormous benefits  which are created byEnglish give us. First of all, it is widely
argued that English is easy to master. This is obviously favorable because it
seems not to have the complexity and abundance of grammatical rules that many
other languages have. Unlike other languages, English has no cases, no gender,
no word agreement, and arguably has a simple grammar system. Second of all, a
further plus point could be that it helps people to travel around the world without
experiencing any difficulties. This is definitely valuable since many tourists find it
hard to communicate with the native people for their simple needs such as asking
for directions, ordering food etc. These issues will be solved if there is only one
language.Last of all, it is hardly too much to say that the widespread use of
English improves the work efficiency greatly. This is surely a positive feature
because  companies need to use a common language to communicate with their
business partners, greatly improve work efficiency in the era of globalization.

From the other side, those who disagree point out that the negative effects of
English as a global language are undeniable. The drawback of this matter is
losing the diversity of languages. This is a clear limitation because language is a
part of every culture. If everyone spoke one language, the other local languages
would gradually disappear. It is necessary to maintain the diversity of the world
languages since each of the languages represents the identity of a community or
a tribe.
Taking everything into account, for the reasons which I mentioned above, I do
believe that the advantages still outweigh disadvantages. So I do totally support
the idea that the spread of English as a global language has aroused public
concern.

Do the positive effects outweigh negative effects, when advertising gains in popularity?

 The topic of advertising has aroused public concern. Some people support the
view that advertising is indispensable in modern life and its benefits outnumber
the limitations whilst others claim about the opposite .It is quite natural that
people from different backgrounds have their own opinions on the issue.
Therefore, both of these arguments will be analyzed before a reasoned conclusion
is reached.
