Theme of the project:
The main theme of the project is to help farmers to control their
agriculture activities through their SMART PHONE which further results
in usage of renewable sources such as solar energy. The theme of the
project also helps in creating “TECHNO ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS”.
Project Description

• In this project, we are going to build a Smart Farming System

using IoT. The objective of this project is to offer assistance
to farmers in getting Live Data (Temperature, Humidity, Soil
Moisture, Soil Temperature) for efficient environment
monitoring which will enable them to increase their overall
yield and quality of products.
About this Project
PROBLEM:
Due to raise in population, there is an urgent need to obtain renewable energy resources
as ecosystems due to climate change have been affected.
Case Study 1:(lack of awareness)
During the Cesar Gaviria governmental administration (1992), Colombia suffered energy rationing as
the result of a drought. The reservoirs used for the generation of electricity depleted; the
phenomenon affected us and left us in a position that, although it was believed that the system was
prepared to support it, still the generation of energy was very affected.

In the face of the examples shown above, and adding on the many more that occur in all parts of the
world as well as populations that lack conventional electric fluid, there is a clear need to find a
solution.
case study 2:(lack of info)
In many parts of the world due to lack of information abou waether, lack
of information of soil parameters(content of NPK,soil moisture, water
level, soil temparature, etc).Farmers are getting great losses, because of
less yield. This result effect on supply that doesnt meet the requirement
of the present population expo
GOAL(solution)
I was intrigued by the need to implement and update the farms, crops
and livestock and work hand-in-hand to obtain energy. In other words,
my goal was not only to find an alternative to the energy problems but
also to implement programmable technologies, to generate and create
learning campaigns and, above all, to raise awareness among the
citizens of the locality.
NEED
There is an urgent need to facilitate the work of the field!
It could be said that without technology agriculture would not have even emerged;
today, no improvement in the agricultural economy can be expected if we are to turn
our backs on precise modern technological systems.
After a long investigation through the web and institutiond, I came to an idea to
achieve with this project.
SOLUTION(objective of the poject)
Smart Farming System using IoT
SIMULATION:
This smart agriculture using IoT system powered by NodeMCU
consists of a DHT11 sensor, Moisture sensor, DS18B20 Sensor Probe,
LDR, Water Pump, and 12V led strip. When the IoT-based agriculture
monitoring system starts, it checks the Soil moisture, temperature,
humidity, and soil temperature. It then sends this data to the IoT
cloud for live monitoring. If the soil moisture goes below a certain
level, it automatically starts the water pump.
Hardware Assembly
smart monitoring
Adafruit IO Setup
Adafruit IO is an open data platform that allows you to aggregate, visualize, and analyze live data on the cloud. Using
Adafruit IO, you can upload, display, and monitor your data over the internet, and make your project IoT-enabled. You can
control motors, read sensor data, and make cool IoT applications over the internet using Adafruit IO.
Smart Farming Techniques
• Technologies in farming have been utilized in numerous ways. Each kind is
installed for a different purpose.
• Based on the functions, here are some techniques in using technology for
smart farming.
1. Field mapping or data collection:Sensor technology is set up to measure
environmental aspects such as humidity, temperature, light intensity, wind,
water/rainfall, soil composition, and more.
2. Predictive analytics:Analytic software an predict and suggest the action
needed
3. Data Saving:Data is stored directly to the cloud
4. Tracking and monitoring:Cameras, Drones, Tags and GPS
5. Labour work:Need of labour is reduced
6. Saving energy:Usage of renewable sources is increased
IoT in Agriculture

• Smart farming based on IoT technologies enables growers and farmers to reduce
waste and enhance productivity ranging from the quantity of fertilizer utilized to the
number of journeys the farm vehicles have made, and enabling efficient utilization of
resources such as water, electricity, etc.
Benefits of Smart Farming(using Iot)
FUTURE SCOPE
This idea can further be extended to predict
whether which crop is suitable for the selcted
area,By measuring soil chemical parameters like
NPK levels.
CONCLUSION:
• We can predict soil moisture level and moon of
predators.
• Irrigation system can be monitored.
• Damage caused by predators is reduced.
• Increased producvity.
• Water conservation.
• Profit to farmer.
• Increase of usage of renewable sources.
