Script

A Very Hopeless Caterpillar

Narrator
In the light of the moon a little egg lay aside a tree.

Narrator
One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and pop! Out of the
egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

Narrator
He started to look for some food.

Narrator
On Monday he ate through one cotton bud. But he was still
hungry.

Narrator
On Tuesday he got stuck in a piece of chewing gum.

Narrator
On Wednesday he ate through one chocolate milk carton, but he
was still hungry.

Narrator
On Thursday he got stuck in a plastic bag.

Narrator
On Friday he ate two thumb tacks, but he was still
hungry.

Narrator
On Saturday he ate through… one sweet wrapper, one drink
bottle, One cigarette butt, One piece of cardboard, one toilet
roll, one covid mask, one crisp packet and one chocolate
wrapper. He had a stomach-ache.

Narrator
Now he wasn’t hungry anymore-and he wasn’t a little
caterpillar anymore.
He was a big, fat caterpillar.
Narrator
He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He
stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole
in the cocoon, pushed his way out…

Narrator
He was an ugly butterfly! Because of what he had eaten meant
that he was made from rubbish, and sadly he could not fly.

Lighting Information: Solutions:

My main worry is the natural lighting coming in I can fix this solution by covering the window
through the window. with a sheet.

Sound Information: Solutions:

Sound won’t affect my production because it is
taken with photos, I will add in the sound later.

Power Information: Solutions:

There are only two plug sockets however I will I am going to bring in an extension lead to
need a few. increase the available plug sockets from two to
5.

Hazards: Solutions:
There will be lots of my stuff on the floor so I will try and keep all my stuff to one side. I will
there will always be a tripping hazard. There also be careful in where I put the leads.
will also be come wires hanging from the plugs.
Clearances and Confirmations
You need confirmation emails from everyone that is featuring in your video. Please
screenshot these emails including the dates and times they are agreeing to paste them below.

If you are filming somewhere that requires permission, please obtain permission and paste the
confirmation below.

I do not need permission as it is on the college grounds and I have been allowed by teachers.

Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back up actors,
locations and equipment do you have?

If something goes wrong with my narrator, then I will most likely switch to a
friend / family member depending on how much notice I have. I’ve asked a few people and
all of them seem happy to step in if need be. For locations I can also use my classroom and
film in the same place as last time which would be smaller but would still work.
