“INDISTRIAL VISIT
TO
33/11KV BABUPETH SUBSTATION
CHANDRAPUR, MAHARASHTRA

The 33 / 11 k.v. Babupeth Substation, M.S.E.D.C.L., Chandrapur, Maharashtra


visit organized by Electrical Engineering Department of R.C.E.R.T., Chandrapur on 05-
02-2020. The benefit has been taken by Sixty One students of 4th Semester (Second
Year) Electrical Engineering Department. Junior Engineer (Testing) Mr. Santosh
Shinde & Principal Operator Mr. R. K. Niwalkar briefed about the history of that 33 / 11
k.v. Babupeth Substation and the basic information related to it. They guided us
regarding safety and precautions that has to be taken by us during on-site visit.
The Prof. Amit Akkewar & Prof. Subash Kamdi, Industrial tour In-charge from
college were present during the visit.

The main purpose of visit was that students of second year should get familiar with
industrial environment and to get practical knowledge of various components of
substation and their function and working. Er. Santosh Shinde & Mr. R. K. Niwalkar had
taken a lot of effort. They distribute students in two batches & explain the working of
various parts of substation such as bus bar, Insulator, circuit breaker, Isolating
Switches, protective realy, current transformer, voltage transformer, power transformer,
Lightening arrestor.

The session was concluded with Question- Answer session. Many of the
students asked different questions to the Er. Santosh Shinde & Mr. R. K. Niwalkar and
they cleared all the doubt and myths which was in students mind about the
technologies. All students were satisfied after the session. The visit came to an end at
5.00 p.m.

We are thankful to the entire 33/11 KV, Babupeth SubStation, Chandrapur Team
for their cooperation and involvement. We also thank to our respected Principal and
HOD who motivate us to arrange such an informative program. Lately we request you to
arrange more industrial visit in the future for the students which will be helpful for the
students and help to train our students.
