1) Find out the distance between the Capital Cities of Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.
• From any Indian railway app, track the movement of any two trains, one from Punjab to
Andhra Pradesh and other from Andhra Pradesh to Punjab.
• Find out the Main Stations on the way.
• Develop a rough route line for the entire journeys of the trains.
• Develop a table having the distance travelled by the trains after every fixed interval of time,
say, 2 hours.
• Plot the distance - time graph of their journeys.
• From the graph, find out nature of the graph (and hence the type of motion), the slope (and
hence speed of the train.)
2) Make your outing informative along with more fun: Whenever next time you are going to visit
a place in a vehicle, before start of the journey, note down the distance from the odometer of
the vehicle. Start the stop watch on the mobile. Now after every 10 minutes or as per your
choice, note down the instantaneous speed of the vehicle from the speedometer. Also find out
the distance covered, followed by the calculation of the Average Speed. Compare both the
values. Repeat the above steps for a minimum of 5 times. At the end of the journey again note
down the same. Comment on the type of motion of your vehicle in terms of uniform and non-
uniform.
