REQUIREMENTS:-

1. CASE WORK:-

DETAILS:-

We have met the Varma kalai expert Mr. R. There is main art in the stage of

destruction is Varmam. We have met him for know the details about that art and it‟s

treatment methods, then the participation of current society in it.

PRELIMINIARY STUDIES:-

From the starting period the Varmam had treated like the unusual and presumable

one. This art has originated from bogar siddha, agaththiya. In this the main participation

is goes to Agathiya. Because he derived the structure for Varmam and help to improve

the Varmam to next generation. Varmam has 2 classifications. Its‟ vadakalai and

thenkalai. The person who knows this art will not misbehave or will not behave

unethical manner in their family and society. He had 52 years of experience in Varmam.

He had learnt this art from his father. He is running the training center for

Varmam named “஥ாஞ்சா ைர்஥க்கலன”.

In varmam “ப஡க்கன்” had taught as mysterious and presumable. It is used only

for martial purpose. In “ைடக்கன்” there are more methods like அடி ைரிலச,

குத்து ைரிலச, கத்ி, ைாழ், ஈட்டி, குச்சி.

There has been a big politics in the growth of varmam. In the ancient period, the

emperors are hidden this art for the artisans. It has been learned by only the king family.

The emperors have the fear about artisans if they learn it they will control themselves.

So
they hid it from them. He regret about there is no sculpture for varmam. In தக்கு

ைர்஥ம் there are more types

that is 1) தடுைர்஥ம்

2) ப஡ாடுைர்஥ம்

3) ஡ட்டு ைர்஥ம்

4) த஢ாக்குைர்஥ம்

5) ப஥ய் ீண்டாகலன

SUMMARY:-

 This varmam has been mysterious.

 This is not used to the women and children.

PERSONAL OBSERVATION:-

 I regret to not having awareness about this wonderful art.

 I felt that it is useful for martial purpose and for treatment.

 I got the enthusiasm and the urge to lead this art to next level and improve it‟s matter for

next generation.

 I really want to do something for the varmakalai artists.

 I thought that our society needs to make awareness about the Varmam.

PROFESSIONAL OBSERVATION:-

 Varmakalai should be in the TN school books.

 Varmakalai should be the compulsory martial arts learned by all school students.

 It should become the Bachelors degree in colleges.

GROUP WORK:-

• We have go to the school and give them to awareness

• We created the awareness about the mental health and Tamil traditional arts.

• In mental health we have talked about the seriousness of taking care of each

individual mental health to live happy and comfortable life.

• In that work, we have formed as the group.

• We allocate the different topics to each of us.

• By that topic we have prepared our self and start to explain it to the school students.

• We have done the continuous explanation and make some fun and plays in between

the lecture.

• By that there is most of the people got awareness.

• We have converted it as a group work by the benefits of our awareness creation.

• If we made awareness to the school students, after that their parents will get

awareness, then their neighbors, then their area members then it converts as the

society.

• So the change is starts from the school.
