Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
This was the assignment that took the most planning because of the research that was involved in
creating the document. A major problem that I encountered was creating solutions because of the
topic I chose a lot of the solutions require large societal shifts. However, as I was so far into the
research for it, I did my best in conveying the solutions.

First Draft (for peer editing)

The first draft was very involved and in that I had to put all of the information that I researched into
palatable bites of understandable words. This definitely helped my understanding of the information
as being able to simplify something requires a deeper understanding of the topic yourself. The main
thing that I learned in this assignment was information simplification for sure.

Second Draft (for your packet)

The second draft didn’t have very many content changes. It was mainly focused on fixing some of the
errors that I made when rushing to finish the document before the deadline. Such as I forgot to put
the references page at the end of the document and didn’t go back and fill in the table of contents.
This was another reminder of something that I’ve been trying to learn along time. Which is that
procrastinating ends up making you more stressed and the quality of the work is worse.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

The final draft was mainly about restructuring the document. The information was there but I
needed to reorganize it more accurately fit the white page structure. Smaller changes were
formatting the figures to the right specifications and making the document block.
