1. Differentiate primary source and secondary source.


 Primary source is a piece of evidence or objects that are created from the past
which is being studied. It examined the event, subject and historical period of
materials used as evidence. Some types of primary sources includes diaries,
photographs and written document such as memoir, and autobiographies. The
secondary source is created on information gathered or obtained from a primary
source. In other words, it is often consists of interpretation of someone who are
not personally witnessed the events but learned from other sources such as books
and journal articles that analyze and criticize the original works. Both primary and
secondary sources are important in studying history , to interpret and analyze
important events or literary piece that could help us know what is really happened
from the past.

2. Do you think that primary source are superior to secondary source?


 Yes, because primary source consist of detailed information and produce realistic
study of historical records. We can assure that it is more authentic than secondary
source, which relies solely on information gathered from books and journals. In
secondary source, there are instances of showing bias, because it also contains
opinions of someone who are not involve on that particular event. Whereas
primary source, are direct on the person who witnessed the incident and evidences
about an object and literary works. However, both primary and secondary sources
have made a significant contribution to our history.

3. Why is historical criticism important in studying historical sources ?


 In historical sources, an object or document from the past requires investigation.
Basically, historical sources are classified between primary and secondary
sources. Regardless of what kind of historical subject are being studied, it is still
undergo criticism. That’s the time historical criticism takes place. Historical
criticism is complex and requires careful analysis of evidences in order to
understand historical events and explain the content of literary works. In
criticizing the literary piece, it includes fact about the authors life, historical and
social circumstances at the time.
