BQ3 Spin Lesson 2

Falsehood flies

Learning Objective:
I can explain why unreliable knowledge spreads more quickly than reliable
knowledge

Starter:

- This means that lies spread faster than the truth can even come out. That
the so-called “lies” are what people want to hear. They can’t be all lies, just
a statement that would be what the others want to hear to be proven right.

Why did this rumour spread so fast about Coronavirus?

The new 5G-network phone that had been introduced to the world was basically
saying that it will prevent you from getting the virus. And that people had to clear
this false information.
- We are vulnerable to an extent, showing our followers about what we are
doing on a daily basis. But some do not show people their life status.
Sometimes, they could create rumors that could spread to followers and
their friends that you do not know about.

Why do false rumours spread so quickly?

They want to please the people who wanted that answer to be proven to them

information rapidly before the truth can even come out. This could ruin people’s
lives and could create trust issues.
