food and financial assistance to entice its unvaccinated residents to get the jab. Further, the local
government has added additional vaccination sites for easy access; however, their numbers of
vaccinated locals continue to remain low. Therefore, action from outside the barangay is called for
to help increase the vaccination rates of Barangay Labogon by addressing the doubts and concerns
the community residents have regarding the vaccines. It is because, unless the
doubts and concerns of the community members are fully addressed, the vaccination rate will
continue to remain low, leaving many residents susceptible to the virus and its deadly effects.

The Problem
Many of the residents in Barangay Labogon remain hesitant to get themselves vaccinated.
Thus, this proposal aims to raise awareness of the people of Barangay Labogon on the importance
and benefits of getting vaccinated. Moreover, this proposal also seeks to address the concerns and
doubts of the community members about the different COVID-19 vaccines and increase the

getting vaccinated to address their doubts and increase the vaccination rate of the
barangay.
The objectives of this proposal will be achieved through the following proposed solutions:
Campaign Event
The group composed of five Industrial Engineering students from the University of San
Carlos would like to propose a one-month campaign event called A Jab Today will Keep Covid
Away. The one-month campaign event will be divided into four segments held once a week. The
campaign event will be held on January 2022 because it will be good for the community members
to get vaccinated as soon as possible. This event will be in partnership with the local government
of Barangay Labogon, considering they have already held campaigns in their community for the
members to get vaccinated, and it is necessary to get the support of the local government. Since
this will be a big event, there is a need to gather sponsors and speakers. Therefore, the students
and the local barangay officials will gather numerous stakeholders, including professionals from
the medical community, business owners, pro-vaccination citizens, and college students from
various universities. The event will consist of talks about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines and
their effects on one’s health. Moreover, there will also be presentations in the event that will cover
topics on clearing doubts about the vaccines, especially on false rumors and theories posted online.
Furthermore, this event will include testimonials from various people who have experienced
catching the virus after the vaccination to show the importance of getting vaccinated. A registration
section in the event area will be prepared for residents willing to get vaccinated at the end of each
segment. The campaign event will hopefully address the doubts and concerns of the residents of
Barangay Labogon and convince them to get vaccinated. (Name of Member) NOTE: One solution (what
can be done) will do.
Another proposed solution the group proposes is to set up a tarpaulin and selfie station in
the campaign event because an act the group wants to encourage is the presentation of vaccination
as a public act. Presenting the vaccination as a public act may be equivalent to getting stamped on
the thumb to show that one has voted. Researchers have explained that a person’s conduct often
mirrors that of others; thus, the reason for visibility behind this call. This proposed solution aims
to take a bandwagon approach by having vaccinated community members post and share about
their vaccination experiences and information they have learned from the proposed campaign
event. The vaccinated community members will be encouraged to share their posts on social
media with the hashtag #AJabTodayWillKeepCovidAway. In line with this, the tarpaulin or selfie
station with the theme of the campaign event to be set up on the vaccination sites will attract more
people to post on social media. Then, a website will be made to create an online presence, which
would further promote the purpose of the campaign event. Not only will this raise awareness for
Barangay Labogon, but this act may also encourage people around the world to get vaccinated.
Sharing in social media can also make the effects of the proposed campaign event long term. Since
this is a bandwagon approach, this proposed solution hopes that if others see that the majority of
their friends and family are vaccinated, then they will likely open their minds to the possibility of
getting vaccinated and clear their doubts about it. (Name of Member)
Barangay Labogon to get vaccinated. The pandemic has affected almost every corner of the
life of each citizen. However, there are still people who are hesitant about getting vaccinated.
In the PSA poster, multiple colors and symbols were blended to create an understandable
and pleasant visual. A subtle aspect is the color of the virus. Although they have a similar
appearance, the slight difference in color symbolizes the different variants known to us and
how the vaccine can help fight or deflect the COVID-19 virus and its variants. Another
element of the PSA poster is the healthcare workers standing against the virus, signifying
the sacrifice and the first line of defense, medically trained personnel provide and advocate
for the vaccine. The workers are carrying the vaccine and accompanied by a shield to
showcase protection from the virus. The shield in the poster is an important image because
it enforces a strong meaning and understanding of the protection the vaccine and the
healthcare workers bring against the virus. Blue is a prominent color used in the PSA as it
signifies the intelligence used to develop the vaccine. The color blue also signifies the
needed trust the poster is trying to convey in the vaccine because many people still doubt
the bottom of the announcement, is to convince and encourage the residents of Barangay
Labogon to get vaccinated for a safer environment for the entire barangay. (Name of
