I. Objectives:
At the end of 45- minute class discussion, 80 percent of the Grade 8 students are
expected to:
A. identify the rising and falling intonations in the sentences;
B. show appreciation using rising and falling Intonation through Conversation/Dialogue;
C. perform dialogue conversation by applying rising and falling intonations.

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings and Prayers
“Good Morning class” “Good Morning sir!”
2. Checking of Attendance
“Class monitor, is there any absent “None sir”
for today?”
“Very good”
3. Setting of Classroom Standards (students will read the English rules together)
“I have here my classroom standards
or rules. Please read” R – raise your right hand if you want to answer.
U – unity and cooperation must prevail during
group activities.
L – listen carefully to the teacher and to someone
who’s talking in front.
E – eyes forward and pay attention to the class
discussion.
S – silence must always be observed.
B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
"Now before we begin, what is your favorite
song?" "Baby Shark sir!"

2. Unlocking of Difficulties

Desire – a strong feeling of wanting to have

something.

2. Generalization
In order to test the understanding of the message
based from the message of the poem is that the I
will be asking questions regarding with the
poem through the activity of asking random
students from the topic and the language focus.
These are the questions;
a. What is the title of the poem?
b. Who is the author of the poem?
c. What is intonation?
IV. Evaluation
“To test whether you really listen or not I have here example of a sentences and we will
identify the Intonation pattern used”
