3.0 MANUAL CONTROL

3.1 The Manual requires approval of the chairman of ‘ASY’ and acceptance by the
Authorized Inspector prior to distribution and implementation. Approval of
Manual and revisions is documented on the Table of Contents page by
signature and date of the chairman and QSD. AI's acceptance is indicated on
the Table of Contents by signature and date.

3.2 The QSD shall be responsible for the preparation and distribution of the
Manual and revisions to holders listed on "QC Manual Controlled Copy
Distribution List" (Exhibit 3.01). Controlled Manuals shall be identified with
stamp and unique number on Face Page. Uncontrolled copies, that are
current at the time of issue, are for external use only, shall be marked
“Uncontrolled” on the Face Page and do not require controlled distribution
further. Only Controlled copies of this Manual shall be used within the shop
and at field sites.

3.3 Revisions shall be made per Section with the exception of the exhibits which
shall be revised individually. Revision to Manual shall be made in
consultation with the AI. In case of any revision to a Section, except Section
17 (List of Exhibits), the revised text shall be indicated in bold italic and only
the latest revision shall be indicated on each page of the Section. In the case
of a new Edition, revision highlighters are not used. The Table of Contents
and the Facing Page shall be revised and reissued, along with the revised
Sections. The revision status of Manual will be that Table of Contents and
Facing Page.

Section 17 “List of Exhibits” shall give the detail of Exhibit Number, Exhibit
Name, Exhibit Revision Number and Date. Revised information(s) of exhibit
shall be indicated by cloud mark. Only the affected Exhibit, List of Exhibits
and Table of Contents page and Facing Page shall be revised and issued. The
cloud marks shall appear only on the Exhibits in the Manual only and not on
Exhibits in use. In subsequent revision of the Section or a new Edition and
the Exhibit, the previous revision indications shall not appear.

It shall be the responsibility of the recipient to remove and dispose


superseded Sections or Manual and to replace them with revised Sections or
Manual Edition. At the discretion of QSD, the Edition of the Manual may be
advanced. At such time all Section revision numbers including Exhibit
revision numbers shall revert to zero.

3.4 Revisions to the Manual shall be submitted to the Authorized Inspector for his
acceptance prior to their inclusion in the Manual and implementation.

3.5 "Document Transmittal" (Exhibit 3.02), shall be used to transmit all accepted
Manuals Editions/revisions to holders of controlled Manual copies. The QSD
shall send reminders to those Manual holders to return the acknowledgment
within 10 Days. If the acknowledgment is not received after 10 days, he shall
issue NCR specifying adequate measure in order to resolve this issue.

3.6 With every Code Edition issue, the contents of Manual shall be reviewed by
QSD to comply with the requirements. This review shall be documented on
copy of “Summary of Changes” page(s) of each Code Section. Any revision to
this Manual shall be offered for the AI’s acceptance. The revisions shall be
implemented within six months of Code Edition issue date or before code
edition becomes Mandatory.

The QSD is also responsible for revision to the procedures, instructions and
other reference documents which are affected due to Code Edition changes.

3.7 A current controlled copy of the Manual is available at ASY workshops or field
site for use by the Authorized Inspector. The AI shall be provided with a
controlled copy.

3.8 Superseded Manual shall be kept till such time the new Manual is approved
and accepted.

3.9 This Manual is not revised to meet client's requirements. Client specifications
may be addressed through contract specific drawings and documents. Client’s
requirements shall not negate the Code requirements.

3.10 An uncontrolled copy of the Manual shall be provided to AIS during his audits
and to the ASME review Team during joint review.

3.11 The Manual exists in English Language only.
