1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to prepare the list and delivery the Maintenance Spares parts, Special tools and
test equipments as per the contract clauses Appendix TN. Supply of Spares, Special Tools and Testing
Equipment of ERTS Section VI B: Technical/ Particular Specifications including Appendices and Pricing
Document & Pre and Post Bid Queries
This List includes the preparation & delivery of the following:
1) Spares parts list
2) Consumables list
3) Intermediate Overhaul Spares list
4) Special tools list & Test equipment list

1.2 SCOPE
This Spares List, Special tool list & Test equipment list are applicable to the entire Rolling Stock only. It covers
the scope of delivery of Spares & Special tools for maintenance activities.

1.6 DEFINITIONS
In this document the following definitions are applicable:
Availability The ability of a product to be in a state to perform a required function under given
conditions at a given instant of time or over a given time interval assuming that the
required external resources are provided.
Corrective Maintenance carried out after fault recognition and intended to put an item into a state in
maintenance which it can perform a required function. The corrective maintenance cycle includes
failure localization and isolation, disassembly, item removal and replacement or repair,
reassemble, checkout and condition verification.
Component Breakage of one or several assemblies, units, details, mechanisms or instruments of
failure Alstom component and/or TMH component resulting in the loss of possibility to operate
this component
Failure mode The predicted or observed results of a failure cause on a stated item in relation to the
operating conditions at the time of the failure.
Fault An abnormal condition that could lead to an error or a failure in a system.
Metro failures Breakage of one or several assemblies, units, details, mechanisms or instruments
(including Software defects) of a Train resulting in the loss of possibility to operate the
Train or a threat to its safe operation and/or functioning
Logistic Support Group consisting of human, material resources, information and services organized,
coherent with each other and sized to perform the necessary maintenance actions on the
equipment.
Maintainability Probability that a given active maintenance action, for an item under given conditions of
use can be carried out within a stated time interval when the maintenance is performed
under stated conditions and using stated procedures and resources.
Maintenance A system of technical and organizational arrangements that are taken in the course of the
Train operation to ensure the required operating capacities, safety, and reliability
Preventive The maintenance carried out at pre-determined intervals or according to prescribed
maintenance criteria and intended to reduce the probability of failure or the degradation of the
functioning of an item
Reliability The probability that an item can perform a required function under given conditions for a
given time interval.

4 LIST OF ITEMS OF SPARES DELIVERY.

As per the contract Appendix TN, the following items of Spares are to be delivered along with trainset for
Mumbai Metro Line 3 project for Maintenance purpose.

4.1 UNIT EXCHANGE SPARES


The unit exchange spares refer to the delivery of complete equipments based on functional basics.
Unit Exchange Spares will be delivered to the customer as per the Annexure-GA11 & Annexure GA21 quantity
specified in the contract, Part I : Bidding Procedure, Section IVB: Pricing document.

4.2 MANDATORY SPARES


The Mandatory Spares refers to the delivery of Sub-system of complete equipment which can be replaced easily
in the respective equipment at LRU level & SRU Level.
Mandatory Spares will be delivered to customer as per the Annexure-GA12 & Annexure GA22 quantity
specified in the contract, Part I : Bidding Procedure, Section IVB: Pricing document

4.3 INTERMEDIATE OVERHAULING SPARES


The Intermediate overhauling spares refers to the delivery of spares in the form of kits used during the
Overhauling of the equipment, systems, sub-systems of trains.
Intermediate overhauling spares will be delivered to customer as per the Annexure-GA13 & Annexure GA23
quantity specified in the contract, Part I : Bidding Procedure, Section IVB: Pricing document.
Also, any item if required as per OEM’s documents but not included in the above recommended list by the
tenderer will be deemed to have been included and shall be supplied as per the provisions of this contract
without any extra financial implication to the Employer

4.4 CONSUMABLE SPARES


The consumables spares refer to the delivery of items like lubricants, oils, greases, sealants, brake pads, filter
medias, gaskets, lamps, wearable parts like pantograph strips etc. and any other item, whose declared life is less
than one year as specified by OEM for the respective system.
These consumables spares will be supplied by Alstom during commissioning, service trails and up to
completion of warranty period.
Consumable Spares will be delivered to customer as per the Annexure-GA14 & Annexure GA24 quantity
specified in the contract, Part I : Bidding Procedure, Section IVB: Pricing document.

4.5 SPECIAL TOOLS, JIGS, FIXTURES, GAUGES, TESTING & DIAGNOSTIC


EQUIPMENTS
The Special tool, Jigs, Fixtures, gauges, Testing & diagnostic equipment refer to the delivery of tools that are
required for maintenance of complete equipment or sub-components of the complete equipment. This also
include the complete handling & testing of complete equipment.
Special Tools, Jigs, Fixtures, Gauges, Testing & diagnostic equipments tools will be delivered to customer as
per the Annexure-GA41 quantity specified in the contract, Part I : Bidding Procedure, Section IVB: Pricing

4.6 RECOMMENDED SPARES
The Recommended spares refers to the delivery of the spares which are not covered under Unit Exchange
Spares, consumables and mandatory spares but are expected to be required during two years after expiry of
defect liability period. Alstom shall supply all the spares recommended by equipment/sub-system manufacturers
within the quoted cost for recommended spares (if applicable)
Based on approval of these spares part list, Special tool list & Test equipments from MMRC, the purchase order
will placed & delivered to MMRC as per the lead time of the items. In case of any delay in approval list of
items, the delivery to MMRC depot shall also be delayed accordingly.
Further, the above different types of Spares shall be delivered & handed over to MMRC as per process defined
in the Spares Parts Management plan at R[3] and in accordance with contract clauses.
