1.0 Maximum Flood Discharge Calculation :
Total Catchment area = 27.40 Sq.Km
a. Dicken's Formulae ( It is widely used in North And Central India)
Q= C x A3/4 North india 11.37
Where, Central india 11.77-19.28
Q= Discharge in Cumecs. Western india 22.04
A= Catchment area in Sq.km
= 27.40 Sq.Kms.
C= 11 For Central India.
Q= 11.00 x 11.98
Q= 131.7 Cumecs

2.0 Governing levels at Site

1 Avg Bank's Ground Level BGL = 652.1 m.
2 Lowest Nalla Bed Level NBL = 649.20 m.
3 High flood level, (observed) HFL = 652 m.
4 HFL modified ( at d/s due to lowering end sill wall by 0.3m from HFL = 651.7 m.
7 Gross water way (Divide wall to Divide wall) Lg = 40.87 m.

3.0 Fixing Waterway of stream : As per Para 8.1.2 of IS 7784 ( Part – I )

Waterway by Lacey’s formula Pw = 4.8 x (Q)1/2
(for plain and alluvial soil and undefined bank) = 7.7114
Probable waterway for syphon aqueduct % = 35 2.698989
Lc=%xPw = 10.4104
Clear Waterway proposed at the crest level Lw = 41.00 m.

4.0 Parameters proposed for Weir

1 Afflux High Flood Level AHFL = 652.3 m(by trail & error)
2 Height of weir above NBL Hw = 2.5 m.
3 Weir Crest Level WCL = 651.7 m.
4 Sluice Gate Sill Level (NBL+0.3m) SGL = 649.2 m.
5 End Sill Top Level (NBL-0.3m) ESL = 648.9 m.
6 Crest width of Weir Wc = 0.75 m.
7 Length of Weir Lw = 41.00 m.
8 No of 2m wide slots for gates Nsg = 8 No.
9 Gross size of Gate (bg x hg) 2.00 x 2.00 m
