Good morning all

First of all I want to thank God for giving us the chance to be gather here
in this classroom. and I would also like to say thanks to maam sri
wahyuni who has given me the opportunity to stand here delivering my
speech with the title the man behind the history of Indonesian aviation
in 1900-2000. But before we go there, let me introduce myself first. My
name is Rustam Damero Simatupang and I come from the 1EE class.
Before I start giving my presentation ,I would like to ask you some
questions.can I ask you some question please??? I have prepared some
photos that I want to ask.

The reason why I chose this person as the topic of my presentation
because I want to convey to you that the figure behind the history of
aviation Indonesia in the years 1900 - 2000 not only bj habibie but there
is also one other character who also has a major influence on the history
of aviation Indonesia more precisely in the post-independence period

My dear friend
Laksamana muda Nurtanio Pringgoadisuryo was born in Kandangan,
South Kalimantan, December 3, 1923 - died in Bandung, March 21, 1966
at the age of 42 years old as a pioneer of the Indonesian aviationindustry
In 1947 Together with Wiweko Soepono, he made the first metal fighter
and first fighter plane named Sikumbang, followed by Kunang-kunang
(MES engined luxury) and belalang , and then he prepared the
production of the F-27.. some nurtanio’s aircraft were used to train air
force pilots at the time.

The thing that adds my respect to him it is the selection of the right type
of aircraft for the topographical and socioeconomic conditions of
Indonesian society, Nurtanio has designed a suitable aircraft for the
problems of indonesian people, from the type of light transport (general
aviation) to farmers which are effective for agriculture, etc. .

Nurtanio’s experiment that is actually very useful in the agrarian country


like Indonesia is the modification of PZL Wilga (Wren) for food crops, as
it has proved boost Indonesian agricultural products. Remember
Indonesia was once a rice exporter of the orde baru era,.
Nurtanio also has a big dream that he can not realize until now. he
wants to travel the world with his country-made aircraft. in his attempt
to make his dream come true he prepared the Api revolusi aircraft, from
the wreckage of Czechoslovakian aircraft but he was killed during the
test aircraft. his name was immortalized into the name of the Aircraft
Industry Nurtanio which we now know as pt dirgantara Indonesia.
