Right now, we have 88 constellations recognized

by the International Astronomical Union regarded
as boundaries of space. Constellations are
inspired by animals, people, which are usually
gods and goddesses and some were inspired by
objects.

These constellations are divided into three

types. The circumpolar constellation and zodiacal
constellation.

• Zodiacal Constellation is one of the 12

constellations (named star groups) that
appear within a particular portion of the
sky called the zodiac. In astronomy, the
zodiac is the band of sky along which the
paths of the sun, the moon, and the
planets appear to move. Zodiacal
constellation are aries, taurus, gemini,
Sagittarius, Pisces, Aquarius, Libra,
Cancer, Capricorn, Leo, Scorpius and
Taurus.

• Circumpolar Constellations refers

to constellations and stars that are circling
the north and south celestial poles without
ever dipping below the horizon.

• Equatorial constellations are the 15

constellations that intersect the celestial
equator. These constellations are visible
from most places on Earth but are not
circumpolar (visible throughout the year)
from any location. Examples are Aquila,
Canis Minor, Orion and etc.

These are groups of stars that seem to form
