Welcome to TVL - AFA (Food Processing)!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the


Schools Division of Negros Occidental and Dep. Ed Regional Office VI - Western
Visayas through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is
developed to guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents and responsible
adults) in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education
Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to


guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The TVL - AFA (Food Processing) Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the
leaching-learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency
(MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and learner. This will
be made available to the learners with the references/links to ease the independent
learning.

For the learner:

The TVL - AFA (Food Processing) Activity Sheet is developed to help you
continue learning even if you are not in school. This learning material provides you
with meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being an active
learner, carefully read and understand the instructions then perform the activities and
answer the assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on the agreed
schedule.

II. Background Information for Learners

In this lesson, you will learn more about entrepreneurship and the
entrepreneurial competencies related to Food Processing. You will have a first-hand
experience in educational activities leading to assessment of your personal
entrepreneurial competencies (PECs) and the entrepreneurial competencies of a
successful entrepreneur within your province. You will also have several activities
that will align your competencies with those of successful practitioners. Moreover,
this module will encourage you to think about entrepreneurship and its role in the
business community as well as in the economic and social development of an
individual.

CHARACTERISTICS, ATTRIBUTES, LIFESTYLE, SKILLS & TRAITS

What is Personal Characteristic?


 Personal Characteristics or personal qualities.
 This made up one’s personality.
Example: Dependability and patience are the qualities of the person.
Example: honest, flexible, problem solver, friendly, intelligent, enthusiastic and
has sense of humor.

Attributes
Attributes, generally discussed in the context of specific behavior that are
learned as part of the external experiences.
Example: He is LOYAL, COMMITTED, or Has STRONG INTEGRITY.
These are attributes that lead to certain behaviors and can be strong predictors of
how someone will respond in a given situation. So, you might develop strong
attributes after going through a particular difficult personal or professional situation.

Traits
Personality traits, we think of traits: outgoing, shy, introverted/extrovert, loud.
These are the types of characteristics that most people have had most of their lives.
If we think of leadership traits, we often think STRONG, CONFIDENT, and SECURE
– qualities we strive to have.

Lifestyle
 A way of living of individuals, families (households), and society.
 It is expressed both work and leisure behavior patterns and in activities.
 Lifestyle is composite of motivations, needs and wants and is influence by
factors, such as culture, family, reference group and social class.
Skills
 A type of work or activity which requires special training and knowledge.
 It is the knowledge and ability that enables you to have something well.
