Abstract

The researchers chose this website because the school will no longer struggle to manage

the enrollment system, thus, the researchers believe that this website is going to be helpful.

It’s just like other applications which are capable of help us in order to do online things such as

messenger in which it will help us to communicate to our love ones.

The researchers made this with a help of a website developer. First, they started to plan

on how the researchers will make the website. After planning the layouts and designs, a friend

who helped the researchers, starts to encode the programs in the website.

When the website is made, the researchers present it to the panels to give suggestions for

the website to make it much better. Then, the researchers start to gather a data wherein they talk

to twenty five different students from ICT section in grade 7-10 to ask their permissions to be the

respondents in this study, the researchers set up the website and let them test the website made

by the researchers.

After they used the website, the researchers gave them the questionnaire to answer to

assess their perception about the output. When all the respondents tested the website and

answered the questionnaire, the researchers started to tally. According to the data gathered the

website will help students and others liked the website, however there were respondents who did

not like the website much.

CHAPTER I

The Problem and Its Background

Introduction and Review of Related Literature and Studies

Enrollment is the process of entering and verifying the data of student to register on

particular school. Different interrelated processes build up enrollment procedures called

Enrollment System. Enrollment Systems are utilized particularly in recording and retrieving

student's information.

According to Mark (2017) As technology continues to advance, computers becomes a

closer to everyday life Computers are already seen everywhere at work, at school, and at home.

In today’s world, technology has become our number one asset for communicating and

for good reason: It saves time and is cost-effective. Technology is very important now a days

because at least we can continue the essential things that we are doing like our education and our

works.

In this time of pandemic online enrollment is the best option to enroll and to help the

students evade getting infected with the virus.

Paper enrollment forms are becoming a thing of the past. If a student wanted to enroll or

if a parent wanted to enroll their child they must go to school and pick up a paper form. It causes

issues for the busy family who isn’t able to go to school.

If the pen and paper enrollment system continue in this pandemic, students may not be

safe going outside or in a crowded place just like when students are enrolling in school now that

there is a COVID-19 virus, online enrollment is the safest way to enroll in this school year and

moreover students will be safe from the virus.

Last school year the teachers created a google form for students to enroll however it will

take them a long time to do so, after they made the Google Form they will send it to the students

through Messenger, however there are students who has poor internet connection, some of them

are not always active and some of them can’t receive the link, because sometimes messenger is

not working, it can also be visible because of the chats from the students.

According to Abigaile, Chistopher, Themarie, and Mery (2015) With the help of

technology our lives become more convenient and doing things can be done so fast

According to Jennilyn, Ellen, Romeo, Marvin and Rhoel (2021) If truth be told,

computers are no longer used only for computation, but also to communicate and

disseminate essential information as technology has evolved over the years.

Moreover, according to Thompson and Ahn (2012) As a result, it is believed that the

online enrollment system is a clear improvement over paper–based

According to Custodio and Castro (2016) Computer digitalization which is now marked

as one of the leading inventions that an educational institution can have, is the only solution in

this kind of situation.

According to Henrrickson (2017) she stated that, Web-based enrollment makes the

process quantifiably easier and faster for staff and parents. This also apply especially to the

students.

The researchers’ made a website where the students can enroll for their school

registration in this school year. This website is only capable of the students in 7 th to 10th grade.

We made the website where the students can utilize the website smooth and easy, it can also be

used by teachers where they will approve their student’s enrollment form enrollment system not

only allows international students to enroll through internet without traveling to the campus but also

incorporates the business rules

The researchers’ chose this website because this is going to be essential for our school,

they are no longer difficult to manage the enrollment system. The school will no longer struggle

to manage the enrollment system thus researchers’ believe that this website is going to be

helpful. School can also use this website for the next school year.

It’s just like other applications which are capable of help us in order to do online things

where it will help us to make a meeting without seeing each other personally. And this website

will help us to enroll without going to school.

We made the website with the help of HTML, Xampp, CSS, and Notepad++ to do the

coding and add design, we enquire a help of a web developer do the website. And another app

we

3 with another computer or laptop, you can


use is TeamViewer, it’s seeing and having access

control and observe the things what is happening in another laptop so the web developer can

guide and observe if we are doing it right.

When you open the website, you will see the log in/sign up, if you already have an

account click log in, if you don’t have an account click sign up, to enroll you need to select as

admin or student, for the admin, it’s for the students where they will approve the enrollment form

of the student, when you already sign up you must answer the questions being ask, after you

answer the questions asking you need to wait until the teacher approve your enrollment form. If

this will be use in school the teacher’s lessen time to go in school as well as parents and students.

Conceptual Framework

The output that have been produced by the researchers’ will help General Tinio National

High School students and they can easily enroll online especially now that we are facing a

pandemic. Students no longer have to go out to enroll in school and it will be easier for us to

enroll unlike we used to enroll before the pandemic happen.

Statement of the Problem

This research determines the effects of an enrollment application in the student’s

registration or enrollment in the school, Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:

1. How may the profile of the respondents be described in terms of:

1.1 Age;

1.2 Sex; and

1.3 Grade Level?

2. How may the enrollment application be described in terms:

2.1 Controllability;

2.2 Appearance; and

2.3 Functions?

3. How may the experience of the respondents in testing the online enrollment

application be described in terms of:

3.1 Process of online enrollment;

3.2 Time spent enrolling;

Hypotheses of the Study

1. Enrollment website may be characterized in terms of navigation, appearance and

functions the reason for this occurance there are no bugs and easy to use.

2. The enrollment will be faster and easier because it is easier to use, faster and safer to

enroll.

3. They can enroll effortlessly and quickly. They don’t require to go to school for

enrollment besides this will help them evade getting infected with the virus.

4. This website is for the students and it will help the school if this website will be utilized

in every enrollment.

The primary focus of this study is the effects of creating an enrollment website for the

students. Students can enroll effortlessly and quickly

This study is only limited for the Junior students of General Tinio National High School

in which this will be the site of the research. This only includes the grades from 7 to 10.

Significance of the Study 8

This study is highly beneficial significant to the following:

Students. This is beneficial to students of General Tinio National High School, because

they can enroll effortlessly and quickly. They do not need to go to school for enrollment and

besides this will help them avoid getting infected with the virus

Teachers. The teacher’s do not need to serve as enrolling teacher every enrollment. Thus,

the process of enrollment will be easier for them.

Parents or Guardians. Parents or Guardians are no longer have to be bothered going to

school and they can save time in enrollment because they can now enroll their children at the

comfort of their own homes.

Future Researchers. The result of this study may be useful to them as it will serve as

their future reference in conducting research studies. It will also help them in providing

incentives for more researchers’ in this domain. This study will help them to have information

about of the effects of creating an online enrollment website.

Definition of Terms

For better understanding of the terms utilized in this study, the following words are

defined.

G.T.N.H.S Enrollment Website. This is the name of the website we made, because this website

is only for the students of G.T.N.H.S

Pandemic. Is an epidemic of an infectious disease that has spread across a large region, for

instance multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of individuals.

New Normal. Is a state to which an economy, society, etc. settles following a crisis, when this

differs from the situation that prevailed prior to the start of the crisis.

Google form. Is a survey administration software included as part of the free, web-based Google

Docs Editors suite offered by Google. 

Website. Is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain

name and published on at least one web server.

HTML. Is a Microsoft Windows program whose source code consists of HTML, Dynamic

HTML, and one or more scripting languages supported by Internet Explorer, such as VBScript or

Jscript.

CSS. Is a stylesheet language utilized to describe the presentation of a document written in

PHP. Is a server side scripting language. that is utilized to develop Static websites or Dynamic

websites or Web applications.

Notepad++. Is a text and source code editor for utilize with Microsoft Windows. It supports

tabbed editing, which allows working with multiple open files in a single window. The product's

name comes from the C increment operator.

XAMPP. Is an abbreviation for cross-platform, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl, and it allows

you to build WordPress site offline, on a local web server on your computer.

TeamViewer. Let’s you remote in to computers or mobile devices located anywhere in the

world and utilize them as though you were there.

Chapter II

METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The study, "The Effects of Creating an Enrollment Website for the Students of General

Tinio National High School in their School Registration," used descriptive survey research as the

technique of gathering data via a survey questionnaire. Descriptive research is concerned with

conditions and connections that exist based on the definition of Calderon and Gonzalez (2007).

Descriptive research focuses on accurately and completely describing a population,

circumstances, or phenomenon. It can answer questions like what, where, when, and how, but the

only question that it cannot answer is the "why" question. As a consequence, this method of

research is responsive to the gathering of data and facts connected to the present study.

A descriptive survey research proposal uses qualitative data to provide you with relevant

and accurate statistics. The benefit of descriptive research is to describe, to explain, or to validate

a hypothesis when it comes to a determined group of people.

Locale of the Study

This study was conducted in General Tinio National High School. The school is located

at Barangay Pulong Matong, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija. This school is chosen because this is

where the respondents are studying

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of the study were 25 students from grade 7 to 10 in General Tinio

National High School. They were chosen as respondents because they are the ones who will

mostly use and benefit in this study.

G.T.N.H.S Enrollment Website is the name of the website, because this website is only

for the students of General Tinio National High School. This will help them enroll in just a

couple minutes. They can enroll effortlessly and quickly. They don’t require to go to school for

When the enrollment ended you can go to settings and closed the enrollment.

Data Gathering procedure

This study covers the Grade 7th to 10th students from the General Tinio National High

School.

For ethical considerations, the researcher will ask the consent of the respondents. After

the approval of the respondents, we will ask permission from the different participating students.

Then, the researcher will proceed to data gathering.

The researchers’ will communicate with the students in accordance with the prepared questions.

The researchers’ assure the confidentiality of the respondents in which all the information to be

gathered will be for research purposes in observance of Data Privacy Law.

The data to be gathered in this study will be analyzed, treated, and interpreted using the

1. To describe the profile of the adults and young adults from the different barangays in district

of was General Tinio Nueva Ecija, frequency and percentage was used.

2. To assess the competency of the adults and young adults from the different barangays in

General Tinio Nueva Ecija, average mean was utilized.

Research Instrument

The instrument that was used in this study is a survey questionnaire. The assessment

consists of two parts (2):

Part I. Describes the profile respondents in terms of their age, sex and grade.

Conclusions

After the study, the researchers’ found out that:

1. The enrollment was faster, easier because it is easy to use and faster and safer to enroll;

2. They don’t require to go to school for enrollment besides the website was helped them

evade getting infected with the virus;

3. The enrollment system was much easier unlike the pen-and-paper enrollment that we do

before the pandemic happen;

4. The school will no longer struggle to manage the enrollment system; and.

5. The teacher’s time was lessen to go in school as well as parents and students.

Recommendations

The following actions are advised and recommended based on the researchers’ findings

and data acquired in this study:

1. Improve the website designs to make the enrollment of students more fun and appealing;

now use the website; and.

5. Other schools that will use the website will require changing the theme or color. The

theme or the color must match their school.
