ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
INTERVENTION PLAN IN SCIENCE 8
SPINNING DANGER

I. RATIONALE
Based on the Activity done last October 7-10, 2021, the Grade 8 Science Teacher found out that
there are learners who did not perform well and failed in the said activity regarding Typhoon. This result
has motivated the teacher to design an intervention program to be able to help the failed learners cope up
with the said lesson.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNING MATERIAL/INTERVENTION TOOL

This Teacher Support Material is composed of two simple activities that gradually lead the
learners to realize how typhoons develop and the dangers they bring.

ACTIVITY ACTIVITY TITLE TASKS

NUMBER
1 Why do you love Philippines, Describe the formation of typhoon near the
typhoons? Philippines.
2 Typhoon…What have you Describe the effects of typhoon in people’s
done? lives.

Specifically, this learning material aims to:

A. inform learners how typhoons are formed; and
B. familiarize learners on the effects of typhoons in people’s lives.
III. MONITORING AND IMPLEMENTATION
The Science teacher and the implementer has made use of Google meet as the medium of their
online learning. She met her learners two times in one week. On the other hand, the teacher also printed
the learning material and she personally distributed it to the learners who were not able to join the online
classes.

After two sessions, the teacher finally re-assessed the students using the same activity
administered before designing an intervention or remedial classes.

IV. ISSUES AND CONCERNS

Factors that affect the mastery of lesson of the learners:

1. Online Class
 Learners do not have full attention to learn a given lesson or topic
 Not all learners are capable in joining the online classes
2. Printed SLM/LAS
 Learners are more interested and cooperative if the modality is face-to-face
 Not all learners are independent learners
3. Social Media
 Learners nowadays are addicted to social media rather than do researching
4. Gadgets/Online Games
 The attention of the learners is divided and often disrupted by playing games
5. Learning Environment
 Some learners are in the squatter’s area and noisy surroundings so they could hardly
focus on their studies
