1. LINE It is one-dimension indefinable path created by a point moving in space-lines vary in width, direction, and length, and can be horizontal, vertical, o diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin, line often define the edges of a form. 2. COLOR It is the light reflected off objects. It has three main characteristics hue its red, yellow, blue and etc. Value describes the brightness of color, color value is used to create different moods, intensity is the purity as strength of a color, it is the brightness color. Chroma it’s refers to the degree of vividness of a color, or how pure it is compared to its representative on the color wheel. 3. VALUE The lightness or darkness of colors, white is the lightest value and black is the darkest, and gray is the middle value. 4. SHAPE Two dimensions, height and width, and are usually defined by lines. 5. FORM Three dimensions that has depth, width and height. Form may also be free flowing, form can be seen from more than one side. 6. TEXTURE A visual sense of how an object depicted would feel in real life if touched: hard, soft, rough, smooth, hairy leathery, sharp and etc. 7. SPACE Space in a work of art refers to feeling or depth or three dimensions. It is an element of art by which positive and negative areas are defined or a serve of depth achieved in a work of art. PRINCIPLE OF ART 1. BALANCE The visual distribution or weight of the elements in a work of art. A. SYMMETRICAL BALANCE When one image is mirrored on the other side to repeat itself. B. ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE When different types of elements create a visual balance. 2. EMPHASIS A way of combining those elements to stress the differences between those elements. It create a variety and a sense of importance in your artwork. 3.CONTRAST Refers to the arrangement of opposite elements. It is the difference between art elements like color, value, size, texture, and so on can intensify the element used. 4. RHYTM It is indicates the movement, created by the careful placement of repeated elements in a work of art to cause a visual tempo or beat. 5. PATTERN AND REPETITION Refers to the visual arrangement of elements with repetitive form or intelligible sequence. 6. UNITY Refers to how different elements of an artwork or design work come together and create a sense of who is someone. It can be achieved through proximity, simplicity, repetition and continuation. 7. VARIETY Refers to the use of differing qualities or instances of visual elements. It can be used to break up monotonous or repetitive areas. 8. PROPORTION The relationship between the sizes of different parts in an artwork. Some proportions are considered to be visually pleasing, such as the rule of thirds and the golden ration.
