among others.

Activity 3. Search for information about inequity in Colombia. Choose a field and describe its
causes. Then propose some alternatives to solve this issue:

Cause: The Ser Pilo Paga Program has excluded students who belong to low social
conditions, since not all the students who access this benefit can continue or finish
their careers in private universities, because of the high costs of these institutions.
Some scholarship recipients cannot afford to making hundreds of copies, buying
meals inside the university or getting the expensive books that are normally required.
Alternatives - If the scholarship recipients could study in a public university, they would be able to
deal with extra expenses.
- If the Government invested in public schools, more students would have the
opportunity to study a professional career.

Statement Opinion
1. Imagine there’s no I think that people belonging to the same culture (religion,
countries beliefs, language…) would not be able to compare to others
and so try to improve their conditions (a current trend
reflects how interested some Colombian families are in
living in a safer and better country to grow their children)
