ANEMIA
1)
DESCRIPTION
Anemia is a condition in which you lack enough healthy red
blood cells to carry an adequate level of oxygen to the
body's tissues. Anemia, also known as low hemoglobin, can
make you feel tired and weak. There are many forms of
anemia, each with its own cause.

2)
PREVENTION
Eat plenty of iron-rich foods, such as tofu, green
leafy vegetables, lean red meats, lentils, beans,
iron-fortified cereals and breads. Eat and drink
foods and beverages rich in vitamin C. Avoid
drinking tea or coffee with your meals, as they can
affect iron absorption.

3)
SYMPTOMS
Whole Body: Slight lightheadedness, fatigue,
malaise, or dizziness
Heart: palpitations or rapid heart rate
Also common: shortness of breath, headache,
paleness, or brittle nails

4)
TREATMENT
Treatment depends on the underlying diagnosis. Iron
supplements can be used for iron deficiency. B vitamin
supplements can be used to counter low vitamin levels.
Blood transfusions can be used for hemorrhages. If the
body's blood production is reduced, medications may be
used to induce blood formation.

5)
¿WHEN SHOULD YOU SEE A DOCTOR?
You should see your doctor when you have the
following symptoms
fatigue, weakness
Pale or yellowish skin, Irregular heartbeat, Shortness of
breath, Dizziness or light-headedness, Chest pain, Cold
