Introduction

The main objective of this project describes Transformer Oil Processing and Testing
(BDV & DGA Analysis) at Bapco . PGP contracting carried out the services on
Transformer Id TR4004J3 under the supervision of Voltech.

Scope of work:

For the Transformer Id TR4004J3

• Testing BDV in oil barrels .

• Shifting oil from barrel to storage tank

• Storage tank circulation with BDV test

• Transformer Vacuuming

• Filling oil from storage tank to Main body with BDV test.

• Oil circulation in Main body.

• Bdv Test after main body circulation.

• DGA test( sample from the main body circulation).

Safety
In BAPCO Area 4 transformer units , all necessary safety PPEs and procedures
are followed by PGP employees as per the BAPCO safety Policies .

Site preparation
All necessary tools and equipment were mobilized to site and stored in allocated area
and barricaded.

Oil sampling:

Oil samples has been taken from the new barrels and existing transformer before
commencing the work. These sample are subjected to DGA & BDV test ( refer test
results in Annexures)

BDV test Before Filling:

The breakdown voltage test performed before filtration . Refer BDV results for new
oil & old transformer in Annexures

Oil transfer from barrels to storage tank:

The new oil from the barrels were transferred to storage tank . 4635 litres of new oil
were filled to storage tank using oil filtration plant.

Storage Tank oil circulation :

Oil in the storage tank were circulated using oil purification plant and BDV test has
been conducted . Refer work report and bdv result in annexures .

Vacuuming and Oil Filling

The circulated oil from storage Tanks are filled to the transformer when the vacuum
level reached below 1 torr . ensured the oil level in the conservator with reference to
the Transformer Temperature . Refer annexures for reports .

Oil circulation :
Oil in the Transformer were circulated on required cycles and ensured the BDV and
PPM values are at correct parameters . Refer BDV results for transformer TR4004J3 in
annexures.

Final Inspection :
• Ensure releasing of gases from the transformers.
• Ensured No leakage of oil in any part of unit.
• Ensured oil level in the conservator.
• Ensured that all valves are in normal Position.

Handover :
After completion of final inspection , Ensured all the tools and materials are cleared
from the site with proper housekeeping and handover to client .
