 Legal internship needs to study legal documents in order to understand as

to what all should be included in these.

 Legal internship is required to assist his mentor in preparing new legal

documents. He needs to prepare these under the guidance of his mentor.

 Legal internship needs to study the cases and make investigations.

 Legal internship is required to accompany his mentor to the clients and

speak to them about the case.

 Legal internship may meet the eye witnesses and talk to them about the
case to figure out important points about the case.

 Legal internship is required to conduct research for the legal cases

assigned to them.

 Legal internship may attend the court hearings and legal proceedings.

 Legal internship is required to understand the case for which he is

attending the hearing by reading about it before going to the court.

 Legal internship may be required to record the court hearings or jot down

important points during the court hearings.

 Legal internship is required to provide inputs while the legal reports are
being prepared.

 Legal internship needs to provide inputs while the legal opinions are being
formed.

 Legal internship is required to help his mentors in preparing legal papers.

They need to conduct extensive research before preparing these papers.

What is   internship for law students?

Internships are an important element of the academic curriculum because they

allow students to receive the practical knowledge and experience they need to
succeed in their fields. Internships in the legal field are no exception.  Legal
internships assist law students in determining their areas of interest among the
many options available through legal education, whether it is a career in a
corporate law firm, litigation, academia, or working for non-profit organisations.

Work Profile

In this Internship my main work involves:

 Tracking dates of cases and informing about them to clients

 Preparing clients and witnesses for evidence
 Appearing before magistrates for getting dates and filing
applications on behalf of clients
 Drafting plaints and petitions on certain cases
 Legal research on facts in issue of cases
 Assisting Senior counsel in court proceedings

Working Environment

I received full support and guidance from fellow associates in chamber.

They helped me in learning day to day activities in court. And they all were
very approachable and also helped me in learning practical overview of
court ethics which will help me in starting my career as a practising lawyer.

Accommodation

My residence is approximately 15 kms from District and Sessions court so I

used to commute daily to court.
Conclusion

It was a great learning experience and appearing before Session Judge and
other Magistrates was a new thing for me which motivated me very much
for appearing in Judicial Services Exam. And hearing arguments between
Advocates helped me a lot in my moot court viva.
