I. Title: Mental Health and Self Care Webinar for DIS Teacher

II. Project Rationale:

Self-care is important for everyone, especially in times like

these. While many professionals have made adjustments to their
routines, perhaps none have done so more than teachers. In some
cases, teachers are working remotely, juggling the demands of
childcare and the classroom. Without, specified time schedule,
teachers can easily find themselves in an endless loop of checking
messages either sms or in messenger, posting to digital
classrooms, and answering parents’ phone calls and inquiries in
private messages or group chats.

The constant tension between work and home can lead to

feelings of guilt and frustration, leaving teachers feeling as though
they are never doing enough, either at work or at home. This kind
of stress can lead to anxiety and depression which are common
illnesses experienced during pandemic, especially to female
teachers who are not only managing her role as teacher in her
class but also juggling her task as wife and mother to her family.

Being vulnerable to anxiety and depressions among female

teachers are one of the gender issues identified during the analysis
of survey responses from the school’s sex disaggregated survey.
This is included in the school’s Annual GAD Plan and Budget
under organization focus for FY 2021.

As support mechanism for the Physical and Mental

Resilience stated in Deped Order no. 14, s.2020, Dampalit
Integrated School will conduct a webinar on Mental Health and
Self Care in the New Normal focusing stress debriefing and coping
mechanism for DIS teachers. This webinar aims to help teachers to
manage physical reactions, thoughts and emotions to avoid the
feeling of depression.

III. Objective:

The fundamental objective of this webinar is to orient the teachers

on the importance of Self Care and how depression may be avoided
during pandemic.
