In appreciation and support given by volunteers, Quezon Girl Scout Council
held the 2021 Virtual Service Awards Ceremony to honor service rendered by troop
leaders and school administrators
in spite of pandemic.
In her message, Gloria P. Potes, Quezon Council President, and former DepEd Quezon
Division Superintendent, stressed the purpose of girl scouting, ‘to produce good girls
citizens in the country.’
“The awards to be given to select leaders are meaningful, hindi makukuha ang
award without rightful action. Kung mayroon mang theory na for every action, there is
an equal reaction, and therefore you have shown good action and the reaction of the
council is to give you the rightful and equal recognition of what you have done,” she
assured.
According to the registration, it showed that leaders were active until at present
though there were also those who are missing, she added. She reminded everyone to
remain active and encourage the old ones to come back because many new leaders are
joining but missing the old ones.
Extending gratitude on her talk, Vitoria N. Uy, Regional Executive Director,
Southern Luzon Region, appreciated the initiative of Quezon Council as one of the few
councils in the region that regularly gives annual awards to its volunteers and leaders.
“GSP recognizes the role in nation-building in guiding Filipino girls and young women
programs that will develop their values and build their character, and this will not be
achieved without the efforts of volunteers and leaders like you on the call of duty in
spite of pandemic,” she expressed.
