Objective 14 – Code of Ethics (MOV: LAC Session Certificate)

ARTICLE IV – A TEACHER AND THE PROFESSION, Section 2 states


that every teacher shall uphold the highest possible standards of quality
education, shall make the best preparations for the career of teaching, and shall
be at his best at all times and in the practice of his profession.

In consonance with this article in the code of ethics, I attended LAC


session in school on the topic “contextualization and Localization in the
Learning Process”, and also on “Conducting Assessment using the Taxonomy
of Measurement”.

I believe that as a teacher, I need to update my personal knowledge so I


can deliver quality education to my leaners in my own class. In this way also, I
would have self-realization on my shortcomings as a teacher and I can initiate
ways for personal improvement using the knowledge I learned from the
resource speakers in the LAC session.

The topic in contextualization helped me a lot on planning effective


teaching strategies wherein pupils can engage meaningfully. The Assessment
process as well, gave me idea on how to assess my learners on their learning
towards my teaching and make the result of assessment as basis for planning for
improvement of instruction and improving manner of learning of the pupils.

LAC session is one of the best practices in developing teachers’


competence, thus, I make sure to myself that I won’t miss any opportunities like
this in our school for my own good and for the good of my pupils as well.
MOV for Objective 17 – Upholds dignity, integrity, etc of the
teacher
This Parent Survey Form allows parents in school to express
their personal feelings and sentiments to the teachers regarding
on concerns, problems, and issues in school and likewise about
the teacher’s performance towards their children particularly on
the teaching, classroom management, and attitude towards
their children.

During pandemic, there is a big shift of teaching mode from


face-to-face to modular or blended learning wherein the parents
made sacrifices in getting and in returning modules of their
children to school. So, a survey was made to assess school and
teacher’s management in the new teaching and learning
approach and on the parents’ reactions to their new role as
home facilitator of their children.

The feedback given by the parents in the form upholds


dignity, integrity, as well as respect to teachers of the parents in
the community. Since this is a healthy way of sharing personal
thoughts and opinions on real issues concerning on the
improvement of services of the teachers for their pupils as well
as for the personal realization of the teachers on their
shortcomings, faults, and most especially on the issue of
addressing problems and needs of the pupils in the new learning
style.
The feedback helped develop personality of the teachers
since real comments will serve as basis or guide of the teachers
to improve their competence and worth as a competitive and
effective teacher, as a good public servant, and as a model of
good values in the community.
