Important information
DANGER
Risk of accident from uncontrolled movement of vehicle
The vehicle could start to move and cause serious or fatal personal injury.
Therefore:
• Take precautions to prevent the vehicle from rolling away.
Observe the safety instructions. This document is not periodically updated. MAN Truck & Bus AG accepts no liability for damage

Version 3.0 RA_282_G_060_885_00_00_00_0001
CAUTION
Risk of accident when handling class 2 lasers
Class 2 lasers can damage the retina.
Therefore:
• Never look directly into the laser beam - including on reflecting surfaces.
• Make third parties aware you are working with lasers.
• Do not aim the laser beam at third parties.
• Seek medical attention immediately if your eyes become irritated.
NOTE
Measurement and calibration errors due to uneven workplace
Unevenness on the parking surface of the vehicle and calibration device lead to inaccurate measurements
and calibrations.
Therefore:
• Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, e.g. a headlight parking space.
• Perform the calibration only on a level foundation.
NOTE
Measurement and calibration errors due to disturbing light sources
Bright window surfaces on the building can interrupt the calibration process
Therefore:
• Ensure uniform lighting of the target and the surroundings
Useful tip
Not all the special tools listed below are required for calibration. Select from the following special tools:
• Adjusting device for the ACC sensor (80.99607-6042) in conjunction with the axle-measuring system
(80.99607-6080) or
• ACC sensor adjusting device (80.99607-6081)

NOTE
Measurement and calibration errors due to
damaged rim flange
The holding device of the measuring heads does
not lie flush with the rear wheel.
Therefore:
• Ensure that the sliding elements lie flush on the
undamaged rim flange.
• Relocate holding device if necessary.
►Place the holding device 1 over the tyre of the
first driven rear axle.
►Align the sliding elements 4 onto the rim flange
2 and fasten with star grip 3.
►Repeat the work steps on the other side of the
vehicle.
Attaching the measurement scale on the
holding device
Useful tip
The measurement scales 2 are both in the scope
of supply of the ACC sensor [1] adjusting device
and the ACC sensor adjusting device [3].

• Seek medical attention immediately if your eyes
become irritated.
►Switch on laser head 3 and align to
measurement scale.
►Repeat the work step on the other side of the
vehicle.
►Undo knurled bolt 1 and push the measurement
scale until the same value can be read on both
sides of the vehicle.
►Tighten knurled bolt 1.
►Switch off laser head 3 on both sides of the
vehicle.
Building the calibration device
Setting up the calibration device in front of the
vehicle
►Set up the calibration device 1 sideways in front
of the vehicle.
►Remove locking ring 3 and bolt 4.
►Lower the measuring bar 2 for the target.
►Remove the protection from the mirror of the
calibration device.
