An Estuary is a partially enclosed body of water formed where freshwater from the land meets and
mixes with saltwater from ocean.
The pupils will work in-group to create their own estuary model.They will be given time to make decisions
on the materials they need to use.
When pupils have completed their model. They will write a short report. The report should go into
detail explaining what an estuary is , and where it can be located.

6. plactic bags(white and blue)
7. stick
8.paint(brown and Green)
9.Twigs and stones
10.cut outs of animals(eagle,raccoon,lion, rabbit,deer,beaver and bear)
1. Paint the sticks(trunk)cut the colored paper(green) and form it as its leaves( cuts into square and trims into
disks)
2. Make several cuts,around the edge crumple and twist it.
3. Push onto stick the formed leaves and glue trees to the base
Making the grass, ferns and flowers.
1. Cut colored paper (into shavings) and mix glue with water apply with brush, sprinkle the shavings, and press
down.
2. Cut paper (orange and yellow) into strips and then into bits and dab grass with glue sprinkle with felt bits
3. Plastic grass garnish fan it out and staple.
1. Glue cardboard lake to the base and glue the plastic (blue)
2. Glue cardboard river(water falls) ang glue the plastic(white)
3. Glue cut outs of animals, rocks and twigs.
