1. Introduction
This structural analysis report is covered on analysis based on existing loading condition of PDC
Telcommunication tower site at Jalan Teluk Air Tawar, Butterworth, Pulau Pinang .

The site layout, tower profile, members, bolts & equipment data are referenced from the data
provided by PDC Telecommunication Sdn Bhd .

The site is in Jalan Teluk Air Tawar, Butteworth . There is open terrain around the site. Hence,
we have considered “Exposure C” in analysis.

 Topographic Category
At this site, no abrupt changes in general topography is observed. The site is in flat terrain. So,
we considered “Topographic Category 1”.

 Structure Class
Structure Class II has been considered

 Design Wind Speed

We have considered design wind speed 120kmph/33m/s (3sec Gust); which is operational
wind speed .

 Steel Grade [Monopole]

7. Foundation Analysis
The scope of checking of the reaction and moments induced from the additional load is not within
the scope of the works.

8. Conclusion
The scope of checking of the reaction and moments induced from the additional load is not
within the scope of the works.

1) Tower members and bolts are found to be structurally safe with stresses at 100% with one
(1) additional antenna (38.8kg) at full wind speed condition.

2) The overall EPA is 21.12 m2.
