a. What are the key microeconomics highlights of President Marcos's
report which will make an impact to our economy? List at least 3 and explain how they will affect the microeconomics units, that is, households and business firms (whether positively or negatively). (15 pts.) While watching the first SONA of our President Bongbong Marcos JR I was in awe of the words he said but I have yet to see if he will partake in his words through actions. The first highlight I will say is his focus on our economic growth despite the forces that set us back whether from our own making or out of control. It will help us by regaining what we all lost during the pandemic, like he mentioned by mobilizing and utilizing our economy. Secondly, I was struck when he mentioned the Agricultural sector and that we need new breeds of farmers, that there must be more employment for the agriculture sector which I believe will have a positive impact on our economy. In that way, President Bongbong said farmers will have acquisition and full support from the government body, leading us to believe in his mention of maximizing produce for growth in our economy, as well as implementing technology apace with farming, like the network President Bongbong mentioned the farm to market road. Lastly, It will be of benefit to us Filipinos and for people who would like to travel the Philippines, if President Bongbong keeps his word when he mentioned he would like to better the Hospitality sector by lowering the prices for medicines so that it can be accessible to people who desperately need it, for each town district to have regular check-ups so that the doctors and nurses can be aware of the health of the people. b. What are your key takeaways on the first SONA of President Marcos? Explain at least 2. (10 pts.) My first key takeaway is when President Bongbong mentioned about the educational system, all in all, I could tell and somewhat assume that he is looking at bettering the Philippines as a whole. Personally, a country can be its best when the people thoroughly know what they are doing, and by doing so, I agree that students should start face-to- face classes because not every student is particular with online classes, with that being said, our President also mentioned the safety precautions before the said fac-to-face classes, like DepEd preparing for new implementations, the safety of teachers and students is a priority with the new normal, and what led me to reverence in when our President asked for another roll out of boosters for more safety. Moreover, my second key takeaway is the SONA in general that
President Bongbong gave, he mentioned segments that were affected by the pandemic and gave a concise aftermath plan on what he plans on doing – Examples are the economic growth, agricultural sector, tourism sector, even social welfares for single mom and PWD’s. c. What are your expectations on the new administration, like projects or things which the past administration was not able to do and are expecting from the new administration? Discuss at least 2. My expectation on the new administration is to strengthen the NTF- ELCAC. I know there is underlying tensions between that said task force and the government body. I would like for our president to end that tension and for them to be able to work in unity, so that the task force alongside the government body can help the Filipinos. It would benefit the NTF-ELCAC if they get their well-deserved full support and motivation from the President so that they can provide operation cluster for republic peace. Lastly, I am holding on to the new progression idea of the tourism sector. Our country is a beautiful country, and it deserves its recognition of its entirety, the country itself as well as the people. One of the best ways is to better airport roads, build roads for more convenience for us and the tourists. Filipino people have so much to offer, such are art, music, visual presentations from our talented countrymen.
