[Subject line] Asking for the Volunteering Position

Dear Ms Anna,

I am interested in opportunities available to volunteer at the Saigon Children’s Charity. As a

long-time advocate of the needs and welfare of the orphanages in our community, I have
experience working with the children there. I would be thrilled to continue to do so in a volunteer
capacity.

I volunteered as an aide at the SOS Village before and enjoyed being able to help the orphans
with their education and outdoor activities. In this position, I assisted program participants with
educational projects, contributed to program planning and strategy sessions, and accompanied
group field trips to outdoor events and museums. I also participated in fundraising and
community outreach initiatives.

If the Saigon Children Charity needs a dedicated volunteer. I would be thrilled to have the
opportunity to assist you. My schedule is flexible, and I would be available to volunteer at your
convenience. Eager to learn more about your mission, success, and challenges in serving our
community. I would be grateful for the opportunity to interview with you at a mutually
convenient time. I look forward to speaking with you.

I appreciate your consideration, and have a great day.

Sincerely,
Van Nguyen Hoang Tran

Purpose: The purpose of this email is to ask Ms Anna for an opportunity to be a volunteer at the
Saigon Children’s Charity

Audience: Ms. Anna – the President of the Saigon Children’s Charity

Information: My enthusiasm for being a volunteer of Saigon Children’s Charity, my experience

when doing volunteering at the SOS Village before and the work that I did when I was there, my
contact information

Benefit: Assist the organization in planning and organizing any programs (especially in the
education field and outdoor activities), and fundraising also.

Objection: The scale of Saigon Children’s Charity is much bigger than the SOS Village, so my
experience might not be enough and not fit with the organization’s standards
Context: fully understanding the candidate through her experiences and background, help the
president of the Sai Gon children’s Charity to consider whether to hire her or not.

[Subject line] IMPORTANT! Academic Misconduct BC-T222WSB-1

Hi Emma,

I am Tran, an advisor of WSU, and I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to you to inform you that one of the assignments you submitted recently contains
evidence of academic dishonesty.

Assignment #2 you uploaded is found to be similar to another student’s assignment in another

Business Communication class. The sources, the content, and the analysis of the two assignments
are 90% similar. This is serious as you could be expelled from the university if you repeat this
the second time.

Please check in with an advisor as soon as possible so we can discuss this misconduct in more
detail. You must understand the Academic Integrity policy to succeed at WSU - Western Sydney
University. You are required to check-in with advising within the next week to discuss this
offence and its implications on your academic studies.

Please confirm you have received this message, and please reply to this email with a specific
date and time to set up a meeting with us to talk over this case.

Take care,
Hoang Tran
The Advising Team

[PAIBOC Analysis]

Purpose: To inform a student’s academic misconduct.

Audience: Emma – a student who has a mistake during the exam.

Information: The information about the student’s misconduct, the decision to sanction the
student, and how to solve the above problem.

Benefit: inform through email as a warning for the first time-making mistake and remind the
student not to make the same mistake again.

Objection: No convincing evidence that the student cheated. It is just a comparison of two
articles with the same results. Need to work directly with a student in advance before email
notification.
Context: a reminder of a student who cheats for the first time and helps a student know more
about the rule of WSU when they have mistakes in learning.
