The study aimed to know the Stress and Coping Mechanisms of Psychology Students Specifically, this study sought to answer the
following questions:
RESULTS
The respondents’ profile variables are presented such as the age, and sex of Psychology students in Batangas State University.
1.1 Age
Table 1 presents the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents when grouped in terms of age.

The table showed the age distribution of the participants. It demonstrates that most of the age of the respondents were ranging
from 18-19 years’ old which is equivalent to 50% followed by 20-21 years’ old which is equivalent to 26.7%. Then 20-23-year-old
respondents are equivalent to 20%. However, the percentage for the age of 24 years old and above were 3.3% or 1 respondent.
The data implied that the majority of respondents were 18-29 years old.
1.2 Sex
Table 2 presents the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents when grouped in terms of sex.

The table showed the age distribution of the participants. It demonstrates that most of the respondents were female with a total
number of 20 which is equivalent to 33.3%. However, male respondents were only 10 or 66.7%.

Based on the results, the responses had a composite mean of 4.207 interpreted as Agree. This indicates that the respondents agreed with the
statements describing the effective ways to reduce the stress of Psychology Students.
The religion aspect through praying and meditating has the highest weighted mean with 4.733 and has the strongly agreed interpretation. It
is generally known that the majority of Psychology students can resolve all the burdens of their life that can lead to stress through having deep faith
to our Almighty God.

as a prerequisite. We are now doing a study entitled “Stress and Coping Mechanisms of First-Year Psychology Students in Batangas State
University”.
