APPLICATION FOR ACCOUNTING INTERN

As an admirer of the impressive work being done by the team at Brainnest, I am delighted to
submit my application for the accounting intern opening. I am a graduate of Banking and
Finance at University of Nigeria Nsukka, where I attained a First Class Honours. Also writing
the final stage of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) professional exam.
Presently, I am working with the finance/accounting team at Solina group. Here, we work as a
team in carrying out projects and tasks which include but not limited to reconciliation of the
financial statements, preparing schedules for payments, preparation of payroll, PAYE and
withholding tax and other remittances, posting of transactions on Quickbooks, review and report
financial findings to the internal audit and other stakeholders etc. Previously, I have worked as
an accountant assistant at Amazing Inspiration Media Uyo where I assist the accountant and
other professionals with creating, sorting and editing financial documents and resolving errors.
During my time in school, I was writing ICAN professional exams, was in the football team,
church meetings, departmental consult and other extracurricular activities. Nevertheless, they did
not affect my academic performance as I was the best graduating student in my faculty of 600
plus students and won many prestigious award that comes with it. This is due to knowing how to
manage my time and prioritize my activities. Also, when I was the accountant assistant, I do
multitask as sometimes I help the marketing and traffic department in preparing documents or
reports needed by my department. My academic skills have given me the ability to communicate
effectively on paper as well as through presentations. I am a man of integrity who understands
what it takes to be approved of by everyone hence have functioned well as a team leader and
team player in the past. I can take responsibility for my own work and my own goals, but I also
enjoy working with other people to reach a common goal.
I strongly believe that if given the opportunity I will utilize my experience and skills in providing
effectively carryout the task at hand in detail and at the same time learning on the job. A meeting
