A. Direction: Provide the functional relationship between each pair of organ systems found in the opposing sides of
the table below. Write your answer on the space provided at the center table.

System How they help each other System

Muscles from the muscular system surrounding the stomach

help agitate the food inside which causes effective digestion.
Some of the smooth muscles also help food to smoothly pass
through the intestines. Ultimately, the muscles enable food to
pass out of the body as stool. The muscular system can then
Muscular System benefit from the nutrients that come from the digested foods. Digestive System

The digestive system filters out the waste from food and gives
the nutrients to the circulatory system, which then enables the
Digestive System Circulatory System
bodily systems and the body itself to receive ample nutrients
and become healthy.

The circulatory system and the respiratory system work

together in order for blood and oxygen to circulate in the body.
The respiratory system enables us to inhale oxygen, and the
Circulatory System circulatory system delivers the oxygen to other organs of our Respiratory System
body, keeping us alive and well.

Nervous System Endocrine System

The hypothalamus, or the portion of the brain that maintains

the equilibrium or homeostasis of the human body, links the
nervous system and the endocrine system which interact in
many ways. The endocrine system releases hormones that are
able to travel to the right developmental places with the help of
the nervous system. The fight or flight response is also an
example of the product of the two systems’ interactions. When
the nervous system senses danger, it alerts the endocrine
system to then signal the body to move since the two systems
work as a communication tool for the whole body and the other
internal systems.

The skeletal system protects the muscular system and the

body’s organs. It also supports the body and is responsible for
its shape. The muscles then connect the skeletal system and

utilize them to allow movement in the body.

B. Direction: Match column A with column B. Write the letter of the correct match on the blank. Use CAPITAL
letter
Column A Column B

__G___1. Skeletal System A. Gas exchange occurs via the movement of air from the external
environment and is exchanged via a dead-end of clusters of thin epithelium
of the walls of air sacs called alveoli.
___F___2. Muscular System B. Removes excess salt and water in the body.

___D__3. Nervous System C. Formation of antibodies

__A____4. Respiratory System D. The growth and development of the body

___I___5. Digestive System E. Responsible for data/ information processing which is gathered by
the peripheral nervous system

___E___6. Endocrine System F. Movement is the reaction of the contraction of

muscle.

___B___7. Urinary System G. Framework of the body

___C___8. Immune System H. Heart is the main organ for this system

___H__9. Circulatory System I. Allows the animal to acquire the necessary

Energy, organic molecules and essential nutrients from the digested foods.
