 SYNOPSIS
Any products to be manufactured invariably require tools . Tool design
and development is a specialized and critical area . Since tool is an aid for
mass production, it should be accurate and economical for successful life of
a product . Tool making is combination of art and science . Stamping Dies
are used to produce sheet metal components . The economy and life of die
reacts entirely on the designer and his role is very important.

The main objective of the project work is to have the detailed

knowledge of the Press Tool making techniques, tool processing in properly
planned and projective manner.
The project work incorporates the details of studying the designs,
process planning and manufacturing of Press Tool for a FASTON AUTO RING
TERMINAL contact
This presents an idea of fundamental necessary for processing the tool
and to give a clear picture of manufacturing process, i.e., sequence of
machining operations involved during manufacturing and assembly of dies.

This process even helps in explaining the functions of main items with
line diagram and to give details of the area of work done during the training
period.
PROJECT REPORT OBJECTIVES

❖ To gain the knowledge of Stamping Die making techniques.

❖ This project gives detailed knowledge of mould making and designing in

systematic and difficulties involve and skill of the toolmakers.

❖ It is helpful for tool makers by providing basic knowledge about design

aspects, raw material selection, manufacturing process etc… The
information present in this project tool can be asset not only to a tool
maker but also to anyone concerned with tool making and production.
❖ The aim of project report is to explain the tool making process from
foundation to the finish in a simple and clear manner and to give a clear
picture of work done during training period.

❖ The main aim of the project report is to explain each subject from the
foundation to the finish of the project in a simple and clear manner.
 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
This project was undertaken at TYCOELECTRONICS which is one of the
leading manufacturers of high-speed precision sheet metal components
over globe.

Tool is design & manufacturing for automotive company. Component

acts as crimping for electrical cables.

Main aim of this project is to design & manufacture stamping

progressive die to produce desired component in – house with
maximum productivity at high speed.

PROJECT ANALYSIS

In order to set up a new project or develop the existing

establishments, various fundamental aspects of the project concerned
should be analyzed carefully before going in to the details of the actual
production. This is one of the most important requirements for the better
prospects in the development of an establishment . From the analysis, we
know whether we will be gaining or losing by investing in a particular
project.
